I'am back to finheaven and I see zach was cut, but in his reply, we could see he ws fine to accept a pay cut.

For me it was an error, this age, this concussion history.....it's bla bla bla.....if you want to built a solid team, you need good player and zach was exactly that.

If I was ireland and parcelle, I would have requested a pay cut, but never cutting him......imagine him in NE next year.......we will be clown again.

Go dolphins go, and hope the better for zach (sign with my second favorite team saints please !) :)

I don't think it was a mistake. They are looking to rebuild and they can't do that with an aging, injury prone linebacker.

A message to the underachievers on the team. If they are going to cut Zach, they will cut you. This really says something about the commitment from the uppers about rebuilding and their desire to win. If they cut the heart of the defense, no one is safe.
My heart was cut to see Zach go..

during all the talks Parcells, Sparano and Thomas had before his releasing..... you don't think they ever spoke of pay-cuts??? i am pretty sure that came up.

Actually, in an interview Zach stated that he was never asked to take a paycut.
His release has to do with his injury history. Parcells stated in his initial PC that one priority was going to be taking steps to have a team with fewer injuries. Most of the early cuts were guys who were injured alot.

ahhhhhhhh, interesting. thank you.

i can see Parcells doing that with the injury thing. he always hated players not practicing pre-season, during weeks and stuff. he always wanted people non stop working. anyone with injuries he always looked down upon.

its wasn't a mistake.. Its was in the best interest of both Zachs and the Dolphins future

I had no idea Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G character was so well known worldwide. I knew Borat was popular but didn't have a clue Ali G had enjoyed such success too. Sorry, that's not very football related.

It may very well have been a mistake. But it's a mistake Parcells is comfortable making. He likes bigger linebackers, and he likes them healthy, and those two things are something that Zach does not currently fit the billing for. I think Parcells may have been more concerned that he could end up paying almost 6 million to a guy who may only end up playing another 5 games because of those concussion problems. Add that to him not being physically a Parcells kind of guy and you see why he ended up being cut.

I would have prefferred a retirement. My soul will cry if Zach ends up like Ali. I do not know what trade value he had, but cutting him allows HIM to decide where, and under what terms he will continue playing. I hope he looked BP in the eye and said, "the day will come that I will ask you to put me on the roster so I may retire Miami Dolphin so remember me when it counts."
