Since RB has the shortest shelf life, does it make sense to draft an "elite" back in the first round? You can run him for 5 years under rookie contract and franchise tag and then let him walk when he is 28ish years old. Have some other team pay the big second contract and you get a comp pick. Rinse and repeat.

Great question. It all depends on the elite level of the RB and if your O is set up for a heavy RB workload. Not at 6 and 18, but if we trade back on one of our picks, then I'd consider it. I think if one of the top few RB's slide to us in the 2nd, then we grab one there.

It does make sense for the way the Fins are structured. Great D, young QB who could use help...a stud RB could really come in on day 1 and make a difference. I think there will be some good options at 2a but wouldn't hate it if the Fins went RB at 18.

Stud running backs only work if you have an offensive line that opens holes. The Dolphins haven't had one in, like forever.
