Do you think Moore could fetch us a 3rd round pick? He is fairly young and performed well last year. If we get Manning or Flynn, he will be expendable and likely wouldn't want to return as a backup. It would make more sense to draft Tannehill in the 2nd round and make him the backup if we go with Manning or Flynn.

If we get Manning, Moore is anything but expandable IMO...

I don't see why anyone would trade for him unless a starter goes down during preseason or the start of the year.

If we backup the Brinks truck for Manning and Flynn who else are we going to have on our team? I'm on the unpopular side of this arguement, go get Peyton Manning and keep Moore as the backup. Best case scenario you go into 2012 with a future HOF'er worst case a guy who went 6-3 over his last 9 games that is dirt cheap. That would leave you with plenty of money, assuming Peyton's contract is done right if he can't play, to still address the position next offseason.

If we get Flynn I'm behind him 100% but lets face it, there is a much better chance Flynn ends up not being much better than Matt Moore, at a much higher price, than a budding superstar franchise QB. The site may not like that opinion, but I certainly think history shows us that's more likely.

Miami would be insane to trade Moore. Manning is one good shot away from permanent paralysis and anyone we get in free agency is a crapshoot.

Id rather keep him as our backup. What would we get? 5th at best?! Not worth it.

Sorry i re-read the original post, missed where is said Manning OR Flynn. Still fell the same way though. What's funny is I consider Manning the lowest risk in this thing as long as his contract is done in a way where he doesn't kill us financially if he can't play.

i think if someone was disparate then maybe a 3, but def a 4th imo. but i would keep him

QBs are worth their weight in gold, if Rick Spielman was dumb enough to ship off a 2nd round pick for AJ Feeley than somebody out there might be dumb enough to ship off a 2nd or 3rd for Moore.

I'd keep him even if we get Manning or Flynn.....Henne went down early last year and that can happen again with anyone.....,you need a good back up and that's what Moore can be for us.

Ozzy rules!!

Won't get much of anything for him, as teams will draft a mid to late round "prospect" before going after someone who most likely is a very good backup. We'd be smart to hang onto him regardless of whoever we get. Henne is the one we need to be just fine with walking out the door.

a month ago I could have sworn some guys would tell you we could get a late first for this guy.

I don't think he has much trade value at all to be honest. maybe a 5th rounder to team like washington, but with their spot in the draft they can probably tackle the qb spot via the draft.

Matt Moore is someone I want on our team. He's proven he can get the job done, he doesn't cost much and realistically his trade value is not very high. Sounds like the perfect backup quarterback to me and if we can't put the pieces together to get our "franchise" quarterback, I won't feel terrible with him leading the team next year.

Yeah, there will be someone out there who will be dumb enough to give up a 2 for him if they are desperate enough. He is worth more to us than anything lower than a 2.

I'd take a 5th and 6th for him, and he isn't signed for peanuts. Dolphins could clear over 2 mil in cap space if they draft Weeden in the 3rd or Osweiler in the 4th and make that guy the number 2 instead of Moore.

Moore is a FA next year and the Dolphins will get nothing when he walks.

Maybe 2 mil in cap doesn't sound like much right now but if Peyton is signed there will be little cap to spare and the Dolphins can sign a nice depth player with that cap room; maybe even a starter. In fact, Yeremiah Bell could be asked to restructure, and that 2 mil could make keeping him a possibility. Dolphins need to be drafting a FS not a SS, and pass rushers, THREE!!! of them. Misi needs to move 4-3 LB,Ike Francis is gone,JT retired and Trusnik stinks and can't play 4-3 DE . Wake is our only 4-3 DE.
