I didn't hear his comment, but yeah I'm sure he meant scoring D and should have said that. He is not a very good beat writer, so what do you expect from him on T.V.

Regular defense ranks mean nothing. Scoring D is all that really matters.

I dont agree they both tell story. You could have a horrible scoring defense if your offense continually turns over ball in wrong area. Your defense should not have offenses driving the ball up and down field sooner or later that bend not break approach costs you games. New england has a pretty bad defense but they usually do well in scoring defense category.
A truly good defense makes stops at all ends of the field

In your opinion but it doesnt tell the whole story. Not saying it doesnt matter but we were sixth in scoring defense and we were 6-10.
