Does Ricky Williams belong in the Miami Dolphins Honor Roll?

WHAT? yer kidding, right?

god, i hope so. what would he get in the HONOR ring for? failing MULTIPLE drug tests? running out on his team mates all for smoking idiot weed? hanging his coach and owner out to dry after they gave up multiple pics and mucho cash to get him out of new 'awlins after saying he couldnt take playing there any longer, etc.......

no. there is NOTHING honorable about anything ricky has done since becoming a fin. smoking dope, running out on your team mates and basically giving the fans who rooted for him and dropped big dime on his jerseys [both the wife and i] the finger!

shagging chicks all over the world leaving them all pregnant, some multiple times, offering NO support, taking no responsability in his sexual adventures. he only came back to football because wayne h. put it to him for screwing him and the team and the women who he helped spawn 20 some kids kicked his sorry arse in court for non payment of child support and he had NOTHING! no where to go and mystical healing somehow wasnt paying the bills [go figure?]. so, he had one place to go, wayne huizenga and the miami dolphins! he did it to eat and keep himself out of jail.

he was a model citiezen on his "comeback", but, he was going through the motions, doing only the minimum. he could have EASILY unseated ronnie brown for starting tb, EASILY, but they were good friends and he wanted ronnie to keep his gig so he did the minimum, helped his pal and took it easy. NOTHING honorable there either!!!!

PROOF? he just went to the team who offered him the LEAST carries!!

ricky's name shouldnt be mentioned in the same breath as HONOR role. wall of SHAME is where ricky williams should be, if anywhere. BU-BYE!!!

The problem is that his "body of work" which some want to include as reasons for him going in the ring also includes running out on the team a week before TC started when it was almost impossible (as it turned out, it was impossible) to acquire a decent replacement. Then he swore he had reformed and was suspended not once, but twice thereafter, one of those being for a whole season....no for what he did to the team in those years, he does not belong in the ring of fame. The bottom line is that for all the great running he did here, he underachieved as a running back for his team...and does not belong in the ring...

I'd vote affirmatively on the basis of his body of work - but even though Wannstedt (who should end up in our "Circle of Dishonor") burned him out, he did quit on the team - to be (pardon the pun) very blunt about it. So I'm twixt and tween although leaning towards no presently, but not necessarily indelibly.

I agree for the very reasons mentioned above - he did quit wholesale whilst in his prime

heres the way I look at it. Based on stats,I think he is well within the ballpark.I mean, your talking about a guy that barring injury, should hit the 10,000 yard rushing mark of his career which very select few (about 20 or so) backs have achieved. Mat majority of them with the Phins,so I have to think that counts for something. However,in '03 when he retired,he left this franchise that he knew first hand was very reliant on him.Say whatchyu want, but Ricky was our offense back then.

We had a team that was a Qb away(much like now) from being a very, very serious playoff contender.I mean, among the best d-linemen with Taylor and Ogunleye,Thomas & Junior Seau....Eddie Moore(lol but seriously) at LB,Surtain and Madison w/ Marion @ Knight as DBs all on the same defense.

We had so much going for us, and the way he walked out on it all,the city and his teammates was cold.Fast foward to the present, its forgiven, nevertheless unforgotten.

......in otherwords no

Even as big fan of Ricky's, I don't think he belongs on the Ring of Honor.

Reasons:
  • No playoff victories
  • Left the team in a lurch several times
  • Only had 1 spectacular season.

What are you smoking to even suggest this.... I like Ricky but he burned this bridge multiple times...

Really? One great season does not a honor roll inductee make. Besides, when I think of great Dolphins players since Marino, the first to come to mind is Zach Thomas.

Richmond Webb, ZT, JT, Tim Bowens

No. Put in the Dolphins who truly deserve to be there, starting with Zach Thomas (and ahead of Ricky I'd put Richmond Webb, Tim Bowens, Jason Taylor, hell, even Bryan Cox and I hate him). Then, after that . . . still no.

In the Ring of Honor? No.

As a statue in front of the stadium, taking a **** in Wannstedt's mouth? Yes.

Not honor roll worthy but second best dolphin back ever and holder of the greatest season ever by a dolphin running back.
