I dont think you could go wrong with Chucky or Cowher..

Both these coaches would prepare the team
better and be better on game days.
I think cowher would do more housecleaning
maybe necessary?
I think chucky would want the job here more..
Can Ross let go of Ireland to get a great coach to buy in?

I could see him gettin Cowher over Chucky and I think he would be willing ot break the bank to do so. Ross is a BIG name type of guy. Cowher would be the biggest guy you could land pretty much. Personally though I dont want Cowher. I think he rode the pigtails of Dick LeBeau all those years and it wasn't until they got Big Ben that he won a ring. Plus ever since he left, the Steelers havn't skipped a beat. I think he is overrated.

I'd rather have a guy like Jeff Fischer who had one of the cheapest owners and still did well. Imagine what he could do with an owner willing to spend and bring in talent. In addition he is part of the competition committee so he understands the evolution and the future of the sport as well.

Fact: No NFL HC who has won a SB has won a SB with a second team.

I firmly believe this team is one veteran head-coach and one good quarterback from being in championship talks... then again, just about every bad team will claim the same thing

at this point, i'm just hoping for some sort of miracle

I personally would love Chucky here. He's a tough SOB and wouldnt let these guys practice in a bubble. He would have them mean, hungry and fired up on gameday. Something our current regime hasnt been able to do.

I would prefer Cowher. Gruden and Fisher are OK, there is certainly worse they could hire, but they are not the best candidates.

Im gonna toss a name out there just to see what I get back, Rob Ryan. It would magnify the rivalry between the jets all the more. He has most of the pieces he needs to have on defense to actually make it good with that classic Ryan family defense. And to be honest no one has ever won a superbowl coaching two different teams. :ponder:

but if i had to choose between gruden and cowher i would choose gruden due to the fact that he has won a superbowl with a mediocre on a good day qb.

Rob Ryan would atleast be a fun HC. Would be fun to have him here. Dare I say...wish he had hired Rex Ryan instead of Sparano. I cant believe we interviewed him and Mike Tomlin and thought they weren't good enough. Parcells is a ****ing moron.

I really dont want either. Both have already won a Super Bowl and work a nice job now. I dont trust their desire to come back and stay. We went through this with Jimmy and I dont want history to repeat itself.

Ultimately, I don't see Cowher making more than a 3-4 year commitment, which might be all Ross cares about if he can win a few playoff games, get the team value up and sell high. IMO, this football business isn't what he thought it would be and there are other mountains to climb when you are a billionaire.

Gruden, I would think, would want it more. If he turned it into a consistent winner with an 8-8 clunker here & there, I could see him giving us a decade. He's still a young guy, and aside from his SB win, this could be his longest tenure in a best-case scenario.

Both of them being away from the game, even for a little while, concerns me. They've been to the summit, and they've got the cushy tv job. Their egos might want to "do it again someplace else" to prove they can, but is that hunger going to last? Parcells can't stay anywhere more than a few years at best, JJ burned out, Gibbs didn't seem to miss leaving football behind the 2nd time. It's just different. You can know what you're doing and turn a team around, but going from .500 to .750 is another story.

we need an up and comer, ryan, oc from the saints, dc from the giants. ross doesnt have the balls to do that. but he will try to bring a big name to put butts in the seats

i think ross will keep tony here the rest of the season
no matter what happens this year!.!
Ross doesn't wanna look like a problem for coaches to come here..

Would not be surprised for this Peterson guy to take the spotlight
and handle more day to day operations of the dolphins.
and then Peterson be the one to let sparano go whether they keep Ireland
i think depends and if Ireland's choices start panning out more than they are now..
It seems Mr. Peterson would like to have some of the responsibilities Ireland has now.
I dont like Ireland but this Peterson maybe a real big brain-fart..

I just do not wanna see a new coach and gm come here because of who they know
the new coach should have real upside and not just somebodies friend..
The coach would have to be a real stand up no nonsense guy. Who people
will listen to and work hard for. Has to be a coach who can make excellent half time adjustments
And builds a system around the strengths of his players..

Ross's best case senario would be the teams wins some home games and beats the Jet and Pats to get the fans interested again. Then a few games before the end of the year he cans Tony and Jeff and has his pick of the coaches out there. Wasn't Parcells hired BEFORE the end of that 1 and 15 disaster.

im still sticking to CK's theory of Ball from GB and let him get his own guy. maybe that guy is Cowher but maybe he will have four or five guys lined up and the best interview wins. the one who understands miami's problems and how to get us there.
