I know he's a RCB. But does he line up inside to defend the slot receiver in subpackages or does he stay outside?

Sam hasn't played the slot in the past for us, but we had Buckley and then Surtain, so there was no reason to put him there. As the good man to man cover that he is, I can see him doing that if he had to..but his speed is not what it use to be, so he may lack a little now.

This past season Reggie Howard and Kiwaki Thomas (sp) played in the slot...

last year our slot got destroyed. mostly reggie howard. Howard is horrible in coverage, but a good tackler, which sam is not, so sam playing slot isnt a good idea.

uh...madison defended the slot lots of times, not as much as surtain did but he did play it

Nap, please tell me you're joking. If you mean good tackler in a "I'll let you catch the ball, run for several yards and desperately flail my arms hoping to grab your jersey/arm/leg kind of way" then yeah, I agree.
