Does Sparano get canned if Fins get off to slow start?

grudens no better at finding a QB....He might even be worse. However,I do think Ireland will be a very good GM one day,and is on the right path but if he's the only speedbump to getting Cowher,I dunno how you dont make that move.Sorry......

Sparano is on thin ice and if he doesn't win he'll be gone. If the Fins are winless at the bye, I think he's out. Though very unlikely, they still are not eliminated. If they are struggling into the second half of the season, Slimm thoughts are right. Keep him to finish the season then fire him. That improves your draft position.

If Bill Cowher or Jon gruden or even Jeff Fisher arent in the plans to be the head coach lets keep Sparano I'm sick of all these rookie head coaches and we need stability at the head coaching position.

yea stability and 7-9

If Sparano is coaching this team and we're like 1-4, the crowd will boo the team and him out the stadium like last year. We're all sick of losing.

Sparano should have been replaced during the off season.

This season will be one of our worst seasons in franchise history.

How can you not address the obvious QB situation....?

I hope I'm wrong, but in all these years, I haven't been wrong, with the exception of Chad Pennington, who I thought we were out of our minds for getting him, but he won the AFC East for us, so I was wrong then.

I argued then, he was too injury prone to take this sort of risk and that we should avoid him.

So, does one great season make me wrong, perhaps, but where is Chad now (Pennington)...?

d-1

BULL***

With the talent they have now way in hell do they come close to that 1-15 season. FACT

If we make playoffs let him keep job if not its about time to cut strings

Our first 3-4 games are all winnable, but they're also all very losable, particularly weeks 1 and 2. If we're 1-3 or 0-4 going in to the bye week this whole regime should be ****canned like they should have been at the end of EACH of the last 2 seasons. Ireland has done a decent job IMO but he's hardly indispensable, 0-3 or 0-4 GONE. EVERYBODY GONE, Sparano, Ireland, get out and take Chad Henne with you.

I think if we lose early Sparono will lose control of the team and Brandon Marshall will be very problematic much like his last year in Denver

Honestly if it's that bad and we are winless or close to it by week 5-6, Marshall (among others like Wake) should be traded for draft picks. Again hypothetical, but if we are that bad next year - this whole team needs to be blown up and started over led by Andrew Luck.

After the Harbaugh debacle, Ross will be very careful when dealing with Sparano's firing.

I doubt he'd ever fire him midseason and I also doubt Sparano would have the balls to resign. It's a marriage for the whole season no matter what happens.

If the team goes 0-8, Sparano won't be fired. They'll just ride the season out and get us some Andrew Luck.

If they get off to a REALLY bad start (I'm talking like 1-6 or something like that) than I can see it happening midseason.

However, this defense is pretty solid which will help them win games despite the QB. And who knows, maybe Henne can be "decent" and actually not lose them games (praying). I don't see this being a miserable 4-12 season. If anything, I see 7-9 wins. Though to be honest if they don't make the playoffs I really think he should be fired, even if they get to 9 wins.

IMO Sporano is gone by mid season.
I am 50/50 on if Irland will follow him and be fired. So far I like the job that Ireland has done more than most of the personel/ GMs we have had in the past even during the Shula years.
NOT saying Ireland could not be improved on but we could do a lot worse I would be more scared of getting a down grade than hopefully of getting a upgrade in the GM area. Hopefully Ireland can just keep improving his GM skills. The best teams have their own draft picks filling out their roster and if anybody looks down this current phins roster it has the most drafted fins on it in a very, very, very long time.
Now arguments abound regarding the GM and how Ireland is responsible for the coach and QB.
You can/might blame Henne on Ireland but not Sporano.
Just read an ariticle/ stats about how much better Henne plays in the spread compared to the conventional offense which appears to be where we are leaning.
It is obvious there are seperate opinions on this subject with one camp and the head coach deciding that changing the scheme and the talent around Henne is the best current answer and the other camp feels that Henne must go and just about anyone will be an improvement.
Logically I can see why the staff chose the former as Sporano's job is on the line and while the the former decision would most likely produce more quicker short term results where the latter long term is where much of the fan base here is thinking.
I beleive there is too much presure to suceed on Henne and that Sporano just doesn't have enought handle on this team to pull it off. If for some reason Sporano does pull it off a sucessful season with Henne this year he will look like a genius. On the other hand if I was Henne I would be looking for a new team next year regardless of how well this year goes. There is just to much pessimissm following the kid as long as he wears the phin logo.
