I don't understand why they haven't pulled their name from consideration yet. Do they actually believe they still have a shot even after trading Marshall?

Manning must be a straight-up player during the meetings with these teams if they still around so long like giddy schoolgirls waiting by the phone for a call.

The Dolphins need to save face and just announce that they are moving on.

Thanks for your insight. Thread of the year. :hclap:

But we have a beast Wr.. Peyton should love to throw "him" the ball

Maybe I should make a new thread with my answers to your question.

OK, thanks. I look forward to reading your reply.

No one is out of this...it's gonna boil down to one thing...who pays him the most money.

Damn, Peyton is one greedy S.O.B. Some of the figures being thrown out there are insane.

They must really think they have a shot, otherwise it makes no sense......on second thought....this FO doesnt make sense.

Ross might be the only owner in the league stupid enough to pony up that much money without as much as seeing him throw. His stupidity may be a benefit. Because i'm not sold on Matt Flynn at all...he's got Kolb written all over him. I'd take Matt Moore over Flynn at least we know what we're getting with him.

They know more than we do and If they are holding on then there is still a chance manning comes here we are the only team with a real qb need why would we be holding out for so long if there wasn't still a chance. Maybe even a good chance. We r gambling right now. Makes no sense to us but I'm sure they know more than us. I usually think the opposite of what the media says

I'm sure that Philbin, Ireland & Ross talked about their plan for Free Agency and the Draft in detail when Philbin was hired. I'm sure they discussed all the possible ways to deal with the QB position.

THEN

After Ross hired Philbin based on those talks he went up to the mountain and proclaimed to the whole NFL world that HE was going to mkae a big splash and hire Peyton Manning. I honestly don't think there is anyway that Ireland and Philbin ever wanted Manning here.

How could they have a plan B when Manning was NEVER really their plan A?

This is a mess. It was mess when we had the head coaching search too, remember with all the 'media leaks', that could only have been coming from Ross. If Ireland leaked anything he would get fired. It had to be Ross.

Ireland is more than capabale of handling the GM duties. I'm sure he has a plan for QB probably with Cousins or some other lower round QB. If Ross is wearing the GM hat then there is no plan, this much is obvious.

a) Ross isn't the only one. In fact Titans' owner is willing to contract him "for life".
As today every GM in the league knows he could pass a physical in about 3 months.

b) Dolphins have less than 9M of cap space, but would rework 3-5 contracts to make room for Peyton if he choices Miami and accepts a 4year/60M with 10M in 2012. Denver is offering close to 80M for 4years, and is willing to move to 100M, so it should place us out of contention for Peyton.

c) Miami FO is holding because accepting they can't match such offer will have wrong response from the fanbase. So their approach has been to accept the rebuilding process but keeping a "win-now" facade.

everything that makes sense doesnt make sense, everything that doesnt make sense does make sense.

I don't understand? It doesn't make sense, can you clarify this statement.

You can bet if we land manning we can reconstruct to make the deal happen. We can do it. And if the fo gives a damn about the fans u best believe of they felt they were out the Peyton race we would have brought in Flynn already.

BULL **** aint nobody going to give him 100m i dont know where u got that from.As a matter of fact 80mil is way to much.At the most 60 mil is what he will get with incentives.
