Does this Bother you as much as it does me?

InFINsible, I think their is some miscommunication here. LeBatard is
criticizing you as a fan...I am not. I am just
as sick as anyone from Miami's futility. I would think that this is a time
to complain. What I don't think will help is LeBatard
criticizing fans for complaining. His opinions about the Dolphins are only
a small point of the article, and they aren't anything the somewhat
intelligent individual doesn't know.

As for attendance falling, don't think that this will force the Dolphins to
do anything to make the situation better.
If it gets really bad they will move and you and I will wind up without a
football team which would break our hearts.
LeBatard is only marginally critcizing the Dolphins, in fact if I remember
he has cited several times in various that we should be comfortable with
22-10 over
the last two years. Any fan knows that Miami has major problems, this is
not a revelation by LeBatard. Mr. L's primary message is that we should
stop complaining and whining

Well I say we shouldn't...

Dolphin 39,
I am an out of towner, a diehard, an obsessive Dolphins fan...

and I guess I wrote a post that wasn't interpreted the way I intended.
I was hoping to question the relevance and intent of LeBatard's article
(which I thought was pointless),
but disappointingly I guess that most people agree with Dan L. that most
fans
are insufferable in nature. Which assuredly, will make these
"insufferable" fans attend games now
that they have been repeatedly insulted.

I guess I am basically alone on an island...in wondering why criticizing
the Dolphins would be such a bad thing

and I am guessing that we will be without a football team to root for in a
few years...because the reality seems that most
people just don't care.

So sad.

I know why LeBatard writes the way he writes. He's not a fan, he doesn't sense our frustration. That and he has become consumed by his own ego. He believes that he understands more about the game and the team than you and I. So I read what he writes for what it's worth...an egotistical idiot with a newspaper column. It is my right as a fan and an American to complain about, i.e., point out what I feel is wrong with the team I love (which is a gut-less coach, but don't get me started on that).

BTW, there are alot of fans that don't live in the area and can't go to the game.

I read the article again. It seems like it starts out as criticism of the fans, and moves on to criticism of the team and then ends up back on the fans.
He actually became what he was writing about.
If you ask me he did nothing but put some words together without ever actually making a point.
How can you rip the team and then rip the fans who rip the team?
How can you point out the shortcomings of the team and then question the dedication of the fans.
As some one said earlier, he is destroying his own point.

I absolutely agree, that Now is the time to question this team. i don't think that criticism is a bad thing.
As far as being jackasses should our team go 5-11, well, I take offense to that.
the Dynamics and expectations of a 5-11 season are quite different from being told we have the horses to go all the way to the Superbowl only to see our season fall amazingly short of that goal, than say if we knew we were going to suck because we are moving in another personel direction. If we are going to go out like a 5-11 team then I would rather have the draft picks that go along with it. If we were dealt with honestly by the team and told they are going to tear it down so they can rebuild it stronger then you have no choice but to find a way to cope. You focus on the individual battles and development rather than wins or losses and you dream of better days. When they keep telling us are close and it's painfully obvious that we are not, that's when we become insufferable.
