This might would be a more interesting conversation if we had a younger more healthier Cam Wake from a few yrs ago. I can't help but reminiss about the glory days of Jason Taylor,Timbo, Trace Armstrong, and Darryl Gardner after listening to Wanny talk on WQAM this morning about how great it was coaching that defensive line.
I don't think this group as it is now can reach that leve,l but I think they can be a defensive line that we can remember for years to come. That defense line I seen yesterday reminded me of the early 2000's and this is what I though we were getting with the Suh signing. I was really disappointed in this unit more than any on the team the first few games cause I really expected greatness from them.
 
They need to show they can play well consistently. They did nothing, absolutely nothing, the first quarter of the season.
 
lol, this place is so bipolar...this can be a very good line but I have trouble seeing a dline being better than that one...we've had some pretty good front 4s, how about when Taylor and Ogunlewe were bookending poor QBs?
 
4 games of 1 sack and then 1 game of 5 sacks. Personally I'd like to see even a smidgen of consistency before we start talking greatest ever in Miami history.

This is not a one game over reaction this was a thought when this roster was put together. I'm looking at what we could be if everyone on that line played up to potential, they could be devastating. This is not far reaching as someone may think. Wake has been a double digit sack master, Vernon had 11 sacks in 2013 and Suh needs no introduction (Earl Thomas nothing special) why shouldn't we have high expectations for 3 players that have played at a very high level in this league.

Unreal...... How can this line be compared to the great lines we've had in the past when they haven't even played consistently for more than one game
 
Haha. Is that a joke? Better than Ogun, Tim Bowens, Larry Chester and JT? and throw in Armstrong and gardener... You honestly think after one game they even come close? They have a long ways to go to even be in that conversation. Yeah
 
They COULD be that great if they played balls to the wall every single play, but JT and company are great already.
 
There were on pace to be the worst DL in Dolphins history until this past Sunday, lol.
 
will we play a rookie QB and a rookie RT every week?

also we simplified the defense which is fine against a rookie QB

Texas has crappy QB's, I hope we don't make them look good like we did with TyTaylor and Bortles
