Rex, if you don't want the Dolphins to pick up Manning that's fine, but no need to create a FH account and start nonsense like this, man!

I showed how getting peyton contributes to the long term answer in my post. In the last two sentences. You have to realize elite qbs have to be available to us, we can't create one or make a decent one great. You make it sound like we even have options. Andrew luv? Is a colt. Rg3 probably won't fall, but even if he did he isn't at an nfl elite level now and he needs a couple years to learn. Tannehill needs at least 2 years to sit. Weeden goes against your argument of long term stability so he's irrelevant. All the other qbs of this draft need way more time. So do you sew where 3 years of manning helps us when it comes to our most likely QB of the future- Rg3 or Tannehill. Not only is the best QB to play the game mentoring your rookie kid Qb...he's giving you 3 better years of Qb than you're ever going to get from your rookie throughput his career.Dude dont you want to see long term stability for the Dolphins? Manning is not the answer. He's a short term fix, if anything. The dolphins should be focused on building a franchise that can be competitive for years, not signing one player and hoping that they can be good for a couple years. After that, then where are they? Right back in the middle of no where.
And from the looks of it, he's ready to make a championship statement in the NFL again.

Are you trollin? You're replying to things I didn't say.I never said there wasn't anyone un the draft. There's 4 guys in the draft I like. Luck, rg3, griffin, weeden. I said this in the post, you must have missed it. Luck isn't a possibility. Weeden goes against your argument of needing long term stability, 10 years out of a Qb. Rg3 could sit a year or two, and Tannehill def. needs to sit.i dont think anyone would argue that having peyton freaking manning tutor a young guy is anything but a good thing, except you.Getting manning, and consequently getting great play out of him, isn't a pipe dream. It's a realistic situation were facing.I was gonna ask what your plan would be, but I just remembered-its tanking the next year to get barkley. Lol.Marino is mentoring the rookie qb's now? huh. I didnt know that. Im sorry, I dont buy the mentoring argument. It holds no water as we have seen too many qb's fail after having years "learning how to play" under a vet. As for creating one or making a decent one meh. The dolphins have to Draft one. Dont tell me they arent out there to get. They are available. The front office has to put in the work identifying a potential starter. All the guys since marino? Please you knew they were fail sauce as soon as they stepped on the field. As for manning, you have no idea whether or not he can even play any more let alone lead the 'phins for two to three seasons. So basically you arent talking about developing a long term strategy for the dolphins. You are talking about a pipe dream, thats all.

Lets see....
- 4 neck procedures in the last 12-16 months
- cervicle vertebrae fusion
- nerve damage to arm
- hasnt played in a year
- weakness in his throwing arm
- major concerns of his long term durability
so.... really.... you want to sign manning? why the hell would you want a broke down player?
The fins would be better off moving up to grab rbg or stinking/tanking another year and going for a solid qb in the draft instead of wasting millions on someone who may not actually be able to play anymore.
Manning is toast, and the dolphins shouldnt waste any time or money on him. Focus on getting a quarterback who can hang with the franchise for the next decade.
I will ignore your ad hominen attack and answer some of your contentions.
What would I like to see? the team trading up for rgb. That would be the best solution imo. and I would play him right away. None of this sitting on the bench for two years garbage. Did matthew stafford sit? andy dalton? matt ryan? way back in in 1998, did payton manning sit on the bench to "learn"? hell no. They played. Thats the way to do it.
As for Manning mentoring players, name any one of his back ups that have suceeded in the league. Just one. Please.
And until you know Manning has completely recovered, its not being realistic to assume you will get great play from him, its being hopefully optomistic. There is a big difference between the two.
Name Mannings backups: Dan Orlovsky-5th round pick, Curtis Painter-6th round pick. Why would you expect either of them to be good? Manning cant make a bad player good. But, he can make a good player with a high ceiling reach that ceiling.
Manning-1st overall pick. Stafford-1st overall pick. Of course theyre going to play day 1. As for Dalton, who else were the Bengals going to start? Same for Falcons.
Dree Brees sat, Tom brady sat, Aaron Rodgers sat, Ben Roethlisberger was the 3rd string qb and was supposed to sit the whole season but was thrown in due to injuries to both qbs, Dan Marino sat half the season, Brett Favre sat, Steve young started and sucked, got traded then sat behind Montana for years and became a HOFer, Matt Schaub sat, Philip Rivers sat, etc. You were saying?
Manning has been medically cleared already. And, you saw him throwing the ball in the released video. He has 4 months to rehab before we even need him to throw. Bottom line, if he becomes a fin, you can bet our medical staff did their job.
