Keep in mind this is very early...
Round 1- Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville
Yes, he is young. But from all reports, he has wowed the coaches (and presumably the Scouts) at the Senior Bowl with his maturity and physical ability. In my ideal offseason, we resign Holliday but lose Truck, Zgonina and Wilkinson, so we do need to add a player for the interior Dline. Not sure if he has the bulk to play NT in our 3-4, but I know his weight at the Senior Bowl was far lower than expected/than in College.
Round 2- Lamar Woodley, DE, Michigan
Tremendous value, but one of the nation's best pass rushers is not getting much attention. Pretty early in the 2nd, he could very well be available. He will team with JT to rush the QB from the OLB spot, while also moving around quite a bit. In two rounds, we address the need for youth in the front seven. Both guys should be starters in year one, or with Okoye, at least a key member of the Dline rotation (depending on how many of Rod Wright, Manny Wright, Fred Evans and Kevin Vickerson show anything in TC).
Round 3- Dan Mozes, G/C, West Virgina
In his opening presser, Coach talked about building from the inside out, just as they did in San Diego with Nick Hardwick. Mozes could come in and play center, with Hadnot moving back to RG. Plays with some attitude and a lot of toughness, which is something I would like to see more of out of our offensive line. A smart guy, that should be able to learn pro defenses well enough to make the necessary line calls.
Round 4- Chansi Stuckey, WR, Clemson
The speed WR we were looking for, and has potential as a return man as well. Can stretch the field, bottom line, which is something Mueller is looking for.
Round 6- Jordan Palmer, QB, UTEPP
He has the physical ability, he just needs some coaching. His older brother's former QB coach may just be our new OC. A guy for Cam and his staff to develop as their own. Plus, its about time we draft a QB, and with Mueller leading the personnel department, it appears likely.
Round 7- Dedrick Harrington, LB, Missouri
Very good production, and in the seventh, decent value as a potential ST guy. Plus, I believe the overall depth at LB must be improved. Behind Pope, and perhaps Spragan (who may be resigned as a backup), there is not much there.
Keep in mind, I see us adding a playmaker at CB and a starting Olineman in free agency.
