i still very much believe daunte culpepper was worth a 2nd round pick and it will show this season we need to build a wall in front of him and get him more weapons like a teddy ginn or dwayne jarrett plus with the return of ricky it will make him that much better agreed?

Quite frankly- No. I don't.

i have hopes but i dont know how much i actually believe in him tho. i would prob atleast give him this year cuz i dont see us being a playoff team next year and i really dont like this years choices in the draft. reality is also that we did just spend last years second on him. even with a new staff and coach last year will still be a part of what the future needs to be a part of.

the bigger question imo is how much does the head coaching canidates have in pep? does the fact of have pep on our roster make miami look more appealing?

Well, time will tell...but, the injury is certainly not terminal. Once he gets more mobility, he will be a dangerous player.

If the Phins add another playmaker WR and beef up the O-line, the sky is the limit.

not sure i havent heard anything from his knee latley does anyone know how
daunte is doing

As a Phin fan I hope for Daunte's return because if he dosen't return at a high level we're screwed yet again at QB for at least next year assuming we draft a decent prospect. If we don't we could be put back 2 years or more at that position. So I hope he comes back 100%.

As a fan of the game removing my Dolphin allegiances my concern is twofold.

One is the complete recovery of his knee.

Second is his ability to read defenses quickly and efficiently enough to be a top QB once again.
These questions have followed him throughout his career including his days in college. I know this for a fact as I played for UCF and my position coach flat out told me it's a weakness of his and that they simplified the offense they ran while he was there for him.

These two issues concern me greatly.
Seeing that, I really hope we use a pick on a future QB prospect with a 1st day pick. It's well overdue we invest at this position.

Man I hope Chambers or one of the other guys has a big breakout Pro Bowl kind of year in 2007. I don't know what they're going to do in the draft and the FA period, but it sure would be nice to grab a guy like Calvin Johnson.

If his speed and mobility come back, I bet Daunte could rack up the big yards and TDs all season long with a guy like Calvin. 6' 5", 235 lbs. 4.4 40 and he can jump like Michael Jordan. Talk about a matchup problem with all the 5' 11" CBs and safeties in the NFL. I bet Calvin's going to tear up the NFL next year on somebody's team. He might make T.O. and Randy Moss look like Pop Warner players by comparison. I'm sure Chan Gailey could tell you all about him since he was his coach. Calvin might be "the Bo Jackson of wide receivers" as far as physical skills go ... and Bo was definitely a freak.

Bo was 6' 1", 235 lbs. and could run the 40 in the high 4.2s/low 4.3s. He could have been an Olympic sprinter. I still haven't seen a back with that combination of power and speed since. LT is damn close though. LT has all the physical skills and is one of the most skilled/smart runners I've ever seen. LT might go down as the best ever ... and there's been some damn good backs who came before him.

To me, I have complete faith in Daunte Culpepper. If he comes back awesome. If he doesn't ... I am so relieved Saban is gone as now the new coach has no tie-ins to him. I.e., if he flat out cannot comeback nobody will criticize the new coach for getting/drafting a new QB, as the onus was on Saban who is no longer here.
