I mean by watching the game on TV, there were times I couldn't see the whole field. Once in a long while they would should a replay showing the whole field and it seemed to me that our WR's were getting open once Daunte began to scramble, but when that would happen, Daunte would be more worried about eluding the defensive lineman then getting rid of the ball.

So which was it, was Buffalo's secondary that good? Or was Daunte that bad?

yeah I would liek to know to answers to that as well..it seemed liek every time daunte went back to pass he pulled his throws. was he locking on one guy or just hesitant or what?

It was hot, decent breeze. The Bills fans were drunk and annoying and the Dolphins recievers had lots of opportunities to make plays. Welker was wide open in the middle and #8 missed him. Chambers was wide open several times and nothing. It was a pretty bad loss to have to watch. Reminded me of our home opener in 94' against the Titans. Really hard to watch.

one fan that was there said there was a couple times that some one was open and Daunte just missed him, but for the most part, our WRs and OC did a horrible job to get open.

also, its not that hard to cover everyone when you have to keep 2 extra guys in to block and help out the OLine alot of times. bascially you have 3 guys running routes agaisnt 7 guys to cover them.

OUCH. Was it THAT bad? I was at that game ('04) and have never felt more inept as a fan. Open receivers all over the place...

it was my opinion that the WR's were getting open more often than not, it was just that Culpepper looked like a rookie back there, extremely uncomfortable in the pocket, scrambling when he didn't have to, not trusting himself to throw the ball down the field, and only relying on safety valve running backs for passes

Why do we feel like we need to play like a bunch of babys. Can we BOMB the ball down field more than 1 time a game...open things up a little bit, this is horrible. No wonder we can complete a pass because they know what we are going to do, we threw maybe one ball for more than 35 yards yesterday...Open up the playbook coaches. there more than the front side of the paper

After the first series, we were in max protection. Leaving a back and te in to protect. Marty Booker did a horrible job on seperating coverage, and Chris was double with safety help. Hagan got some time, and Welker worked the middle of the field. On dump offs to Brown and Randy, that was the D dropped back into coverage and they were able to jump out. Daunte was not A+, but the fans and the media play off each other and make it sound like they know what they are talking about. Daunte started the game 9-10 until the INT. He makes one bad play, and they season is over?

AMEN BROTHER! Thank you! At least somebody as somewhat rational here. Jesus Christ! Yes, Daunte fumbled in his first two plays, but (when he wasn't face planted on the turf) he was accurate for much of the first half. then we were behind, well, you know what happened...But we cant blame this all on Daunte. Games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage, and guess what, we lost the battle on the front lines and henceforth lost the game.

The blame is a shared one for this offensive debacle between QB, coaching and OL in that order IMO.

The O-Line was responsible for some of the sacks but in my estimation 4 of the 7 lay on Culpepper.

I was at the game and on many occasions, for whatever reason, Culpepper just wasn't able to read coverages and see the field WITH time in the pocket. He held on to the ball way too long and missed some prime opportunities.

So to answer your question, yes without doubt we had WR's getting open. Something is just not clicking with Culpepper right now.

I"m not in the camp saying he should be benched but I'm also not foolish enough to ignore that a player is struggling just to say "I support him".

Hopefully they can work out whatever the problem is with CPep.

Again, I'm not at all down with the bench Culpepper crowd but I'm getting just as tired of reading the Culpepper is playing great crowd as well.

He didn't make just one bad play, he has made MANY bad plays in both games not to mention the bigger problem of open receivers he just isn't seeing.

The guy is having some serious problems.
I think you can actually admit the obvious without condemning the guy as your starter.

Point is that if he continues to play this way he will be benched. Hopefully they help him work through the problems. That would be the best scenario for our team.

However, if he dosen't work through those problems by week 8 you'll then see Harrington in IMO.
