You are not connectable when you have a firewall issue with your router.You can still upload and download with peers who are connectable but not with those who are not.In effect your are reducing your possible connections and your speed by staying unconectable.

i didn't have to do anything special with BitComet, and i had ridiculous upload amounts... i haven't changed any "settings"... but with BitSpirit i have to?

Well, these are not the only torrents i do, and i still use Bitcomet for other stuff as well (getting my trance livesets).... i think having multiple clients for the same basic program/transfer method is silly.

I'll keep using Bitspirit until we get our own tracker... but i thought i would just make it known that it is not as good as BitComet! :tongue:

(why did they ban bitcomet anyway???)

They banned Bitcomet because it was bridging over to non members thus affecting everyones ratios.It made the ratios lower for many of the members and they were complaining.I know it lowered my ratio quite a bit but I didnt care as long as I was on the positive side.I argued with the Admin but I LOST.:tongue:
 
I've been thinking about our private tracker and awful lot lately. Was wondering if I should set up my own little page here on my linux box with php and do that. Then we'd have complete control....but then again, I think too much. lol

We have had some close calls on our own tracker but there has always been one problem or another that has prevented us to go to it yet.I am sure we will get one up and running soon for beta testing.

If you want to test one we can give it a try on one of the games you have on your HD.The 85 Bears one or the fake spike game always generates interest.

I know you want the Marino return game.We opted to get Max's cleaned up version because most of us already had it.We will see how things go in thre next couple of weeks.While we have fresh games we prefer to go that way than rehash old games.When they play out we will revisit those we have already done.Pls be patient all of you.Its not good to get out of focus.Believe me I have tried to put up torrents for one request or another only to see them flounder because the person requesting them is no longer around and interest is lacking to make a good torrent.Its important to concentrate efforts because if I put up a torrent that is not popular then I am taking BW from one that is.

All in good time.I havent forgotten any requests.

who gives a flying fuk about ratios? honestly? just as long as people ARE sharing, and files are being transferred.

complaining about ratios is like arguing on the internet: its stupid and pointless.

honestly, so what if you have a .98 ratio and some other guy has a .84???? if we were all working for them and that is how we were paid, thats one thing... but for transfers of random files for fun and hobby? come on... those people that complained should be shot.

EDIT: and i know you argued FOR bitcomet... i'm just venting ;)

I've been thinking along those lines too. I don't know how much bandwidth a tracker would need though. Also wonder if my ISP would frown on it.

Wow... I finished downloading the game and watched some of it a few minutes ago...I remember watching that game, thinking that we really would have a running game for the first time in years. LOL. Abdul-Jabbar looked great, the blocking was terrific... And the defense really showed that it could play. I thought for sure that Jimmy was the right choice - despite the fact that I hated him with a passion. Talk about a letdown. lol

Everybody had high expectations just like this year with a new coach.This time I trust that the results will be better.:wink:
