Dolphin "Classic" Games torrent thread

I think we can all agree we would prefer the DVD quality loads for the Classic games if we can get them that way but I fear we may be encroaching on the commercial applications.

As far as the regular season I think we should opt for the 1.5 meg to 2 meg size.We will cross that bridge when we get to it.

I feel like if we are going to bother doing this, it's because we have games we'll want to watch repeatedly (I do) & the older ones even more so. Why bother creating a crappy-looking copy? Even at 4GB there is artifacting & less-than-perfect image quality, but I prefer to burn mine onto DVD & watch them that way...

Currently there are no "commercial applications" to deliver this to us, but yes I'm sure that NFL Films is headed that way. For now I think we should try to keep the quality high, even if it means slower/longer downloads (says the guy with the T1 line ;) )

oh dang I didn't know you guys wanted higher quality. If You don't care about a 1.5+ GB file, that will make my encoding job a lot easier!

Just give us what you have.We dont want to complicate things for you or any other volunteers. We will adapt to whatever is easier and more comforatble for you. There are no time constraints involved with the Classic games. The higher the quality the better as far as I am concerned. If anyone wants a smaller file I can rip it later.:)

Count me in!

Guys I can get my Cable Modem Speed bumped up to 5meg down and 1meg up. I only have a 650mhz processer and a 20Gig HD. However, I many older games from the 82, 84, 90, 92, 94, 95 seasons that our on VHS. I do have a DVD burner which I use to convert these VHS tapes. How could I be of some assistant to the group?

on a side note, the cowboys game is downright flying for me at a rate of 150 kB/s.... the pats rework is coming down at 50k, and i'm seeding the 'Hawks game but no one seems to want it.
Guys-maybe someone can help. I keep getting the following error . Can someone help
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

Thanks for your offer.I think you should concentrate on the older games as there may be some DVD quality games for the newer ones.I wiil start compiling a list of wants vs availability/quality.

so i could take out my cd burner/dvd player- correct

Yes. The DVD burner can do all of those tasks, play normal CD's, burn CD-R's and CD-RW's, play DVD's and burn DVD's. :)

If you're trying to watch the cowboys/dolphins game you need a DVD player such as Intervideo WinDVD or PowerDVD. If you are talking about the Patriots/Dolphins game you need a Divx codec/player which can be found on http://www.divx.com/divx/ it's the last one on the bottom and is free.

Thanks again guys, I'm at 60.5% at the moment, can't wait till it finishes!

Yes the DVD burners will burn all other formats and sizes up to 4.7 Gig .I use re-recordable DVDs to store data to clear out my HD.Saves me from buying a another HD.

If you have Nero installed you can burn the Cowboy game using the DVD-ROM(UDF) selection. There are other ways also.A good reference is www.videohelp.com .
