So far, it seems that we are at least as good as last year talent wise, and maybe a bit better.

DL- Loaded with the signings of Starks, Mitchell, added to a very deep and talented DL. If Wake stays healthy, OV takes another step, and Jordan chimes in, our front four is scary.

LB- No changes yet but, have to believe that Ellerbe and Wheeler will be much better, hard to get worse.

S- Losing Clemons may hurt, not as much for his talent but, his QBing our secondary. Delmas may be good but. am loking for Pryor or Clayton-Dix to add an impact.

CB- Got what we wanted in Grimes. Hard to judge the 2nd CB with no one saying anything on Taylor, and not sure who we may pick up. Lot's ofFA talent here, and am looking for a vet to fall through the cracks.

Overall, we are at least as good as last year, which was not bad, and could take a step forward.

I agree with everything you say here and have to believe that the D would be much better with an O that could sustain drives and run the ball. Fixing our O-line could do wonders for our defense.

Defense is fine. Need an offense with weapons that can score more than 3 touchdowns a game and can rush for more then 2 yards a game...

I dont think our D has gotten better as of right now, possibly even worse depending on what the do with CB position, but we shall see...

It is still incomplete, too early to grade. I think they will still bring in a MLB via draft and a CB via free agency.

As of this moment our D is worse. He was a gaping hole at CB. Our LBs are ****ty, but they were ****ty last year. I can't understand how anyone expect them to improve. They suck, that's it. We need another CB.

I would say our defensive line is better. I know some will say that Soliai is more proven than Mitchell, but my feelings go beyond the Soliai/Mitchell swap. Vernon is another year more comfortable in the defense and Jordan now has a full year of NFL experience under his belt.

Linebackers are exactly the same, hopefully we add some depth/competition there at some point. In the secondary it is pretty much the same(even with the Delmas/Clemons swap) with the exception of the other cornerback spot.

OMG!!! on xbox maybe....maybe. On the field? psss. Who's the stud on D? Who's the thumper vs the run? Who's the shut down corner? Grimes? good and athletic yes, shut down? Nope.

Fins were at the bottom of the list in rush D.

Our defense didn't lose much, big Paul but added Mitchell. Cut Patterson who was always injured anyways. Traded Clemons for Delmas. The defense is no worse. And should be better if guys like Davis, Taylor and Jordan step up. I Would add another corner and LB. Give me Thurmond and Spikes. A better running game and maybe playing with a lead for once will also make a better defense

I'm very inclined to agree here. Quite frankly, I'm more nervous about the secondary than ever before!

Fin were middle of the pack on rush d. The most important rushing d stat is yard per rush allowed not yards per game.
Miami was tied for 19th with Cincinnati with 4.1 per attempt. That is pretty much the league average.

We were 4th in opponents passer rating. There is a reason we gave up more rushing yards last year. The pass D was forcing teams to run.

Yeah, I just believe that we are at least as good, which was a concern, and can get better. Many disagree but, I see substantial improvement from within. We shall see.

Love to draft a MLB and move Ellerbe outside then I believe we will be greatly improved with just that one move.

I agree with that. I think Taylor and Davis will step up but would like to see another veteran CB brought in and think they will. Like you I can't believe Wheeler will be as bad this year as he was last and I expect to get more production out of Jordan. Nothing against Big Paul, but Mitchell makes the line much more athletic.

At CB, Patterson hardly played, and is not part of the equation. Carroll played well but, like Taylor this year better. Overall, I have to think we are at least as good, with a few guys to be added.
