Dolphin Fans Are Crazy Dumb Or Drunk

Wow somebody finally gets it. I applaud you topic starter, that took some courage to post, especially here.

You fin fans have to learn losing seasons happen, they just do. The bills faced the same thing a while back when they went 3-13 and we have yet to make the playoffs.

I know you all think it will be shorter for you because it's the dolphins and all, but it's not an easy road to get back to the playoffs after a disastrous season. Your defense is going to get progressively worse as time goes on. The dolphins are going to have to give that defense a makeover before you guys make the playoffs.

At the risk of getting called Ms. Cleo 1,000 times, the fins are not going to make the playoffs this year. Deep down you all know this, just face it now so it's not as crushing when you guys don't do as well as you had hoped.

Losing like this is a bad taste. The dolphins have never had a taste like this, now they have a mouthful.

Seriously, there is not one game on the schedule that we can not win. I am definitely not saying that we will go 16-0, then I'd just be some dumb homer. But if Miami shows to be more mentally tough (i.e. able to close out games), there is no reason that we should doubt there ability to win against anyone, anywhere. We will definitely be improved, and I could see Miami going 12-4. I could also see them going 6-10. What I'm trying to say is, you can't put people down for being optimistic, especially about this team.

It's so funny that people like y'all would start flinging mud at another fan just because he speaks an opinion. I'm not bashing y'all for thinking it, but I can think you're off a bit can't I. For the same reason why you all ask why I care is exactly what I could ask you. Why do you care what I write? Let's keep it clean and fun. No need to bash a team that's gonna take the SEC this year. Ha ha. Now I'm being the optimist for my gators just like you all for the phins. Ha ha. I'm gonna go laugh to myself now.

You could be right but this team will be better than last years squad for sure. Next season will be the true watermark, because Saban will have enough of his own picks drafted that we will really start seeing results.

Why cant we go 12-4? Remember the Carolina Panthers....they went from 1-15 to a Superbowl team.....dont give up hope Yee of Little Faith!!!

Actually it was the 2nd year they went to the SB. They went like 7-9 the year before. Which is about what it will take us.

But you can't put down people for being realistic either. I'd love for us to go 12-4 and trust me I will happily eat crow if they do. I'm in the 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 crowd. Not playoffs but close.

Wow. Just a little friendly SEC smack. Whew....

Megatron, I don't know you from adam, but i'm hoping i misunderstood your post. I was a fan every day of last year and it sucked. I've been a fan for a while now, through thick and thin. If you want to argue semantics on a football forum, add an asterik on your comments. Otherwise, don't make narrow-minded, speculative remarks.

Ya know, this is FUNNY coming from a Bills fan. Didn't ya'll just have a 9-7 season and came close to the playoffs after a horrendous 2003 season? You're talking with your heart rather than looking at your own experience.

Not Really.

Buffalo's finishes since '01:

01': 3-13
02': 8-8
03': 6-10
04': 9-7

It takes time.

Our biggest obstacle this year is the AFCE...The Jets were in the p/o's last year, the Bills were very close and the Pats are the Pats...(meaning, I refuse to count them out until they are beaten...they just always seem to come thru when you least expect it..). That constitutes 6 of our 16 games.

We were close in most every game last year, but we really weren't very close in those games. We had no heart last year, as a team...That won't be true this year, but it still won't add up to 10 or 12 wins like some seem to think...

As a loooong time Fins fan, I can tell you that this time of EVERY year, including last year, is time for extreme optimism because our teams have usually always been well coached at least (save for the last couple or three years). This year is different...while we are all agreed that Saban will be more of a Shula type coach than a Wanny type coach, we do have to temper our optimism some...Saban hasn't coached his first pro game yet (as a HC)...

Saban has made some improvements, but will it be enough for this season ?? I doubt it seriously...Saban must have abandoned his "build for the future" ideas after looking a little closer at the talent we already had on the roster and just decided to plug up a few holes and keep moving...but is it going to be enough (for this season) ??

The bottom line for most of us would be that even if we are 4-12 again, and competitive, we'd be happy...we have been 10-6 and 11-5 in the last few years and not competitive, so that would be a tremendous sight for me...I'm not being pessimistic, just guardedly optimistic. I stand by what I said before Wanny left, and that was that I was tired of playing not to lose instead of to win...I do feel that with Saban, we'll play to win though...

(how's that for rambling on....)

That's a good point. I would be happy if we finished 7-9 or higher. It just seemed to me that UFfan was being a little too concrete saying "It's totally crazy and untrue" for us to finish 12-4. I'm definitely not saying it's probable or will happen, but it is possible.

Your 3-13, 8-8 and 6-10 seasons were all under Williams. You change coaches and have a one year turnaround. That's the way it looks to me.

If you guys can go from 6-10 to 9-7, we can go from 4-12 to 9-7 just as easily. There's no requirement that we have a bunch of downtime. All it took was a coaching change for you guys.
