Dolphin Fans Are Crazy Dumb Or Drunk

i dont think the competition improved dramatically... i think our division actually got a little weaker... pats with their coordinators and LB troubles... bills with no LT and a basically rookie QB starting, also lost their best DT... jets lost some of their Dline as well as pennington injuries, lost RB depth ,etc...

No, with the talent Miami has, and better coaching this year, anything less then 9 wins is a disappointment....I am predicting 10 wins.

It is amazing how just 1 year of everything going wrong has made so many people forget how much talent and success this team has had with horrible coaching. Just amazing how little faith there is in this team. :shakeno:

i'm not ripping into you for your post, but this is an odd point here. drew brees didn't show that he was "light years ahead" of anybody until they played games last season. the chargers skipped some good players in order to draft his replacement. last year was the first time he had much time to throw, from what i saw. and no, there was no point before last season where brees was considered a "serious star" in the NFL. before last year, brees was a "serious question mark" who probably only got his chance to shine because rivers held out so long.

I totally agree with this, but I was referring to his obvious star status as of now. I do give some credit to his coaching and teammates, but whatever they did, they unearthed his raw talent. Maybe we can do that to feeley...or frerotte, but I'm not holding my breath ya know?

Well thank you for your opinion, but I have been following this team much much longer than you and I really don't need you to explain to me how I should view this season.

The facts are, anything is possible in this leaque now, no one thought there was a chance in hell the Rams would do what they did in 1999, or the same for the Patriots in 2001, so don't tell me there is no chance at all.

I look at this season with reasonable expectations of simply progressing towards the goal of a championship, but I DO NOT limit the possibilities because only a fool does that.

Good gosh people. When did I ever tell any of you what you "should" think. I didn't. Instead, put on the "adult" glasses and see that you are doing exactly what you all think I did to you. I've been a fan since birth, I'm only 24, but I've been around long enough to see what it takes to be good in this league...and you know what...each year it gets harder and harder to be that. Well, this year in the AFCE, it's going to be tough. Even without injuries and bad luck it's going to be tough. All I was doing is stating an opinion...yes OPINION of what I thought of the 12-4 predictions being bought up like hotcakes. I just don't see it. I know you all can do it right back and say that I'm wrong, but don't start telling me to "stop pushing my negative comments on y'all"...that's just dumb. I started this thread simply to give the realists a plug because every other thread is about how we're taking home championships for the next 5 years because we have a new coach and a returning pothead...I've got to go now and take the ductape off my wife's #34 jersey...In the rough times last year i converted it to an #84. He's good.

Exactly! ......and they also forget all the problems we went through last season, having the youngest/least experienced Oline, it being AJ's 1st year, etc. etc. and we were STILL pretty d@mn close in about 7 games that we lost which is pretty unbelievable considering how "poorly" we played and all the injuries we had, booker signing a week before the season starting, etc...you get the point (well, maybe not everyone....lol).

This is just a bunch of mumble jumble..The Dolphins can, and should win atleast 11 games this year..It's proven that can happen year to year in the NFL..We are loaded and have one the brightess football minds in our sport, just ask the best NFL coach in the league right now..I think you are the dumb and drunk one..

Now I'm seeing it. I crossed the line with the comments by calling some of us dumb...what I meant by that was..."holy cow is that a longshot prediction if I ever saw one" :rofl3:

I'm glad to see y'all getting so riled up here though. What I don't like is this:

"The Dolphins can, and should win atleast 11 games this year..."

And I'm the one getting railed for my comments!!!

That's hilarious...that we can be realistic and get slammed by a bunch of people, but when a guy says we should be able to fly next year...literally leave the ground at will, they get cheered and supported with comments like..."it could happen"..."gotta have faith in the phins dawg"

Wow.

Guys...I'm gonna lay something out for you ok...just listen up here.

1) The Pats have 40 starters...yes 40 starters...they have WRs playing corner...they have LBs playing reciever...they will make do just fine. They have great cover corners...GREAT...and we have a VERY questionable one. They have Tom Brady, whom I love to criticize, but he's good. Damn good. They also have a great running game. Believe me, they had room to spare with these kind of losses. Now they did lose their coordinators...that is going to show, but not to the extent of being equal with us. That being said, we did beat them last year. So it could happen, my point has always been it's more likely that it won't. You people who are so optimistic are the ones who take the reverse role when we are 0-4...you start throwing dung everywhere because we suck. My thread was just a reference to help you point out that we should still be celebratory if we are 7-9. That's a vast improvement.

2) The bills and their QB problem is not a good arguement. First off, we don't know how good loseman is going to be, but we do know he did things right by waiting. So he's a chance, but notice that they won 9 of their last 12 with a terrible QB. Almost threw more interceptions than us. They have a stellar Def and a great running game. (ie...Tampa bay ingredients of their SB win).

3) The jets were three coaching decisions away from being 14-2 last year. They couldn't close against NE, many people couldn't. Then they blew a game because of poor clock management. They have great defense and a great QB and oh yeah...CURTIS MARTIN...I'm done with this conversation now.

Hands down...there have to be certain things in play for certain things to happen...people keep bringing up the past...and the "it can happen" comments...well, things are in place right now that make that harder than usual...so again...on record...7-9 would be awesome.

It might have been this sentence..............

I'm saying all this with Tough Love for my fellow FINHEAVEN compadres only because I want you all to enjoy the progress this season

Buckwheat, I watched the Dolphins go undefeated nearly a decade before you were breathing, as I said, most of us here don't need you to tell us how to view the season.

You have the right to your opinion, but when you insinuate that some Dolphin fans are either "crazy, Dumb or drunk" (your words), to actually have the audacity to think or hope that a successful season is possible, you cross the line, and show your ignorance of recent NFL history, where teams have gone from the bottom to the top in one year.

P.S. The 1999 Rams were 250-1 to win the Superbowl, maybe you should go tell them they are all either "crazy, dumb or drunk" to actually believe that season happened?

all i want out of this season is to hear these words during week 5 pregame shows "I really dont know where the dolphins can put ricky williams, do they really need him?" dont get me wrong i'm glad ricky is back i just want our team to be good enough with out him that we arnt looking foward to week 6.

if were 3-12 in week 17 i will still be watching the dolphins play there last game and if were 11-4 going in to week 17 i will be watching the dolphins play there last regular season game. i dont feel the need to say where i think the dolphins will be but i will be watching them regardless.

but i do feel that if our O-line is as good as i hope they will be we could be looking at AJ or Gus as a Kurt Warner by the end of the season.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If your a glass is half empty type guy then good for you. I don't look for mediocrity for the benefit of not being dissapointed. You were always the last one picked and had to rationalize it didn't you? JK.

Miami has a lot in its favor. Although the sytem is new there are a lot of intelligent guys out there picking it up well. We have plenty of practice time. We have had one of the best offseason acquisitions through FA and draft than probably anyone. We have upgraded the coaching staff in all respects. The defense will be new and confusing for our opponents as well, instead of the same old crap we used to run (it worked but deended too much on individual talent). We also have an offensive system that will not play to punt like wanny. Ricky will make a huge impact because your no longer hanging your hopes on the unknown. He is proven. He will also help to make the oline better. Lets not forget Hudson Houck and the chargers turn around with less talented players IMHO. Also our oline should be dominant; they practice against our defense and dline!!! What could be tougher. Isn't that what you always want to do, play someone who is better so you improve.

Our only question mark is QB. And we were able to have winning seasons with that and no RB!!

Also I don't see this so called great improvement within our division. NE got worse and lost key coaches IMO. Buffalo is solid but up and down. The jets did nothing overly impressive. And last year; lest we forget; we were in every game except one despite a horrible offensive system (i struggle to even call it that), no running back, no coaching on oline, the same defense we've run for years, multiple injuries, and Wanny explosive playcalling and go getem attitude.

Everyone may have their own opinion but don't be so one sided with the facts. You should always look at the whole picture. The NFL is too even nowadays.

Yup, and to add to that, we had an Offensive Coordinator, that was just plain offensive.....Hurricane distractions, Ogun Distraction, losing both our starting D-tackles very early....It's amazing we won any games at all, and even more that we were in so many of those games.

Dude that's why I love coming to this site all the time. And that's the reason I joined. You guys are great with the optimism. Carolina didn't produce the same team the next year. Injuries were healed and talent almost COMPLETELY replaced. And no confusion of a new coach and new system. Hmmmm...who has a brand new NFL coach and a new system to teach and learn??? Us. I hope I'm dead wrong, but I don't think I am. I wish FINHEAVEN would save this post so I can re-read it after we go 6-10. Then I want my props. Otherwise I'm buying drinks for everyone on the site. Ha

We will have a new number one and two back, a healed Boston Seau, Thomas. Two new defensive tackles. Two new starting safties. Three new starting olineman with probably the second best oline coach in the NFL. New o coordinator new starting QB probably. By my count we will have 5 new starters on offense and and 6 maybe 7 new starters on D. This is nowhere near the same team it was last year.

well this season will be a learning curve season, and next season you make a run. and where will the super bowl be next season you may ask?? DOLPHINS STADIUM!!
