Rex Ryan built the jets Defense based on Blitzing packages going from diferent angles . but when they don`t blitz they are just a good defense but not that dangerous . Miami now may be the most difficult to read running attack in the league , blitzing us may bring them more problems than solutions because if we pass the first blocking line there will be huge created space . If we can control the game clock and the score putting pressure on QB Sanchez will make a big difference , as that will reduce jets chances forcing them to not turn the ball over . Marc sanchez is not peyton manning .

I'm trying to get the POS Jests fans out of here, quit giving them bait.

Baltimore's defense throttled us last year. I say Rex already has a good idea of how to stop this offense. Then again, we don't have Penny back there this time so maybe that may change things a little bit, but I still see us struggling to move the ball. I hope I'm wrong.

yes but I think now we have more variations on wildcat packages and a more stablished scheme . also not to mention a better line that is constantly improving . i think it`s going to be a very interesting match up .

i'm pretty sure ryan knows the difference between a run blitz and a pressure pass blitz. you don't only blitz to pressure the qb on pass plays. and our front 7 is so strong up the middle that we won't even have to be as agressive with our run blitzes as we might have to be otherwise. we also get our best olb'er back this week. pace is definitely our best pass rusher and he's excellent against the run. no more bust gholston.

The Defense will consider pass a lot more now with Penny out, Henne while he didn't perform perfect he performed the way I thought he would and guess what? He's only going to get better....

A MUCH better line. Not to mention the fact that Baltimore's success had a little something to do with its' personell, not just the scheme (Bart Scott doesn't equal the Ravens D). Factor in the fact that Dan Henning knows what to expect and has had all offseason to game plan some new wrinkles. It will still be very tough, the jests still have a very good D, but I don't expect the same results as vs. the Ravens last season.

I think effective blitzing is exactly what stops the wildcat. The reason the wildcat is successful is because it's simple numbers, losing the quarterback gives us an extra blocker.

Now, the option to hand it to Ricky and the reverse does keep them somewhat honest, but not nearly as much as a quarterback capable of throwing the ball deep down the field can keep a defense honest.

just wondering.....but have you seen the raven's defense this year? now...was it personnel or ryan? idk....but all i know is that ryan is in NY and NY has a better than the ravens thusfar.

I agree with you jetsattack , i think it`s ryan , and also i think the jets do have the personnel to run ryan`s schemes . all i`m saying is that the fins have now a much better line and that we can be very physical on running plays , just take a look at last game and also de VS colts game , if we go ahead in the score it`s gong to be on sanchez shoes .

The Ravens still have gone 37 games without allowing 100 yard rushers, the Jets....not so much.

Revis is the weapon the Ravens really have lacked. I am interested to see how Rex uses him....it's not like it's going to hurt much for Revis to be manned up on Ginn all day....

that depends on what type of blitz is coming . if it`s a corner blitz and ronnie goes inside , blitzing was not effective at all . if it`s safety and LB blitz and we do a reverse ....goodbyeeeeeee !!!:callme:

And how many times have we thrown from this foramtion this year...? Guess what's coming Jests

Maybe now is when we see Pat White out there with the threat of run OR pass.

That's why I said effective blitzing. If they just do a corner blitz or send every safety and linebacker without covering the weakside, it would be a pretty stupid play call.
