Here are my thoughts

http://www.2010-super-bowl.com/Miami_Dolphins/Dolphin-afceast-1.htm

With most of the preseason predictions out, experts seem to be tripping over themselves to pick the New England Patriots to retake the AFC East division in 2009. And, why not? By all accounts, All Pro quarterback, Tom Brady will be back. In many analyst’s mind, that in itself, should be enough to propel them to another Super Bowl. Much of this confidence seems to be based on what happened in 2007. It makes me wonder if any of these pundits watched what happened in the AFC East in 2008?

Enjoy...

Hell Yeah!

Great article!! **** the PATRIOTS and all their fans! Chowderheads have no doubt taken over the New York fans for the most OBNOXIOUS fans in the country!!!

Thanks

I wonder how many agree with my assesment.

Or...
Will the Bills challange?

Will the Jets with their new Defense be the team to beat?

Can anyone stop Brady and Moss?

I have to disagree in a point . the NE defence is being rebuild for the future and i feel the defence is going to be better
CB (age)- youth
2008
Wheatley(23) - 2nd rd pick
Whilite(23)- 4th rd pick
2009
Bulter(22) - 2nd rd pick

Safety
James Sanders(25)-resigned this off season
Merriweather (24)- 2007 first rd pick
Patrick Chung (22)-2008 2nd rd pick

I am not counting springs, legih boden and mike richardson(2005 UDFA who is also in development) .The NE defence the pass defence has been horrible for 2 yrs and its a complete make over of this, I agree with your point. But how are you projecting all the above youth and high picks will not play in their 2nd ,3rd year.

OLB
Woods(25) - he been the reason vrabel was traded
Crabel (23)-3rd rd pick 2008
Reed(24)- the big man 280 lb,6 6 OLB .

Not counting AD on the other side.

ILB
Guyton(23) - He got 60% of the snap at ILB and bru 40% last year - his rookie year
Mayo - you know this guy

DL - Seymour (29) - oldest
Ty warren - 27
VInce 27
Mike wright 26 -signed a extension
Green - 28
Brace - 23 2nd rd pick 2008
their are 3 DL inthe roster now

First of all, I just can't get excited about a linebacker named Pierre LOL

Yes I agree the NE defense is being reconstructed. That is not an ideal situation given ACF East offenses like Miami are going to be better in 09.

Perhaps your suggestion of a youth movement will eventually make for a better D for NE. I just don't see that happening this year. Too many postitions up for grabs at the same time.

Vrabel was not going to be the starter this season, as his play fell that far last year.

KC could use a guy like him. They're not going to win anything this year anyway.

Outside of Wilfork and Seymour I don't see much here, and Wilfork may be playing his last year in NE.

The only reason these bassterds have won as much as they have is because they continue to cheat.

That defense you listed is full of rookie's and mediocre players, including Adalius Thomas, who hasn't done jack, since coming over.

How can a Dolphin fan be so caught up in the NE hype?? The treasoness Krafties are in decline.

CB: Wilhite and Wheatley...the Pats have so much faith in the guys they drafted previously that they went out and got Springs and Bodden? Their picks in this area have shown absolutely nothing. Im not going to just assume they will be all-pro just bc the pats drafted them like a lot of fans and media talking heads.

OLB:Woods, Crable, Reed: Same thing here. Havn't seen much from these guys either. They have so much faith in them they were trying everything they could to get JT? I think when they sign Greg Ellis it will be quite telling.

ILB: Guyton and Mayo: Mayo is a beast. Guyton is nothing special IMO. The guy the grabbed in the 3rd this yr blew the ACL...still need help.

DL: Other than Wilfolk I don't really see anything that special. I don't think there is any way they get Wilfolk resigned after they drafted Brace. The Pats don't overpay for anybody. The Pats have a lot of guys on the D and O lines that will hit FA next yr. I don't think they can afford to keep Wilfolk and the rest of the guys. JMO.

In all fairness they ended the regular season with the same record as us. They were the better team at the end of the year but we had the tie breaker so we won the division. Beating out the Patriots to win the division is a tall order, but not imposssible!

That's exactly what I'm saying do you not remember them coming into our house and kicking our butts! Seriously, dude!!!

We were very much in that game until the 4th Quarter as I recall. Our D couldn't stop their O; I don't think they ever even punted. The team wore out and NE scored 20 points on us in the end. So, I wouldn't really say they kicked our butts. We seem to split with NE a lot. They seem to struggle with us, especially with Taylor.

Yes I recall... It's called... on any given Sunday...

The week before they beat the Dolphins, NE played the Jets. The Jets beat them 34-31. Does that mean the Jets were therefore better team than the Pats?
