For those looking for player as well as coaching changes, Here's the cap info for next season.

Projecting ahead, we will be roughly $5M over next year's cap but, have all kinds of options to deal with that overage. Here's a listing of some of the potential savings to start with.

Jordan- Unless there is a Miraculous Resurrection, he will be gone and save us $3M
Jennings- Would cost $5.5M or save $4M. Due to age and money cannot imagine keeping him.

Cameron- Would cost $9.5M or save $7.5M. If he plays well, we give him a new deal which should cost around $4M first year, saving $5.5M or, move on and save $7.5M..

With these three moves, in addition to the expected roll over of $7-8M, it totals at least $20M, which leaves us $15M.

Re-signing OV and Miller IMO will cost around $7-8M their first year with signing bonus, etc IF we want to do that, we would still have enough for Shelby, back up QB, the draft @ about $3M.

This is Option #1. IF this team wins a playoff game, and we want to keep the band together, we can do so with making very few moves.

.Option #2

Albert- Cost $10M or. save $5M. No idea what to expect from him this year.

Wake- Cost $9.8M or, save $8.4M. I think he is good at a high level for two years but, who knows.

Grimes- Cost $9.5M or, save $6.5M. Hoping he can maintain for two year but again, who knows.

Misi- Cost $4.9M or, save $3.7M. Injuries and young LB's likely make him expendable.

Fox- Cost $1.5M or, save $1.5M. Don't see us keeping him.

That's $25M in cap savings in addition to the rest to make moves, depending on how these players play.

Overall, the team has nothing but options with next year's salary cap and none are any reason for Phan's concern. We are in good shape

Wake, OV and Misi should be let go just on principle.

If things continue in this direction I can see them trying to move Wake and Grimes(if healthy).

There are few players I wouldn't atleast here offers on. If we have a top 5 pick in the draft I would not rule out taking a QB.

Trade what you can, to include finding someone that wants Suh. Lots of dead money ahead.

I would fully expect new coaches to move Wake, Grimes, Albert, and Jennings. We could get a little something back in picks from teams looking to add a player for a year as the money would be discounted with Miami taking the bonus hit. The others listed above are questionable depending on fitting in to new schemes.

We could have $40M to go shopping with but, with many holes to fill.

I cannot see us contending for 2-3 years.

Suh, Tannehill, and Pouncey just signed HUGE deals and are not movable for a couple of years.

Cutting Misi seems to be worthwhile. Fox as well, I think cutting Albert would be a mistake, I don't think there's any reason to reason to resign Vernon, also, depending on how things go, Miller may actually come back pretty cheap. I say you try to lock up Jenkins and Landry ASAP, and James as well

I'd keep Pouncey. Cant make a decision on the QB until after the season. That position needs to be evaluated and draft position should be a factor in it.

Relying on Albert to hold down a spot on the OL all year and not get hurt would be a mistake.

I could be wrong, but I don't think trading Suh is feasible for a couple years.

Unless he has a run of healthy play to close the year, I agree with you. But I really don't think we can make a call on this until the season is behind us. We certainly can't replace on the field him with the $5 million he saves us towards the 2016 cap. But if he's not gonna be on the field anyway, it's a no-brainer.

This team will be under complete reconstruction. Thankfully, we have some overpriced guys that we can simply dump. The only thing that sucks is that even with rebuilding, we could have had hopes of being competitive next season by keeping some of these contracts. Because, we have to absorb the Suh and Tannehill contracts next season, it will make it tough to keep any of them. The guys listed in option #2 are likely gone. We are going to need to save that 25 million. This will likely result in another losing season next year.

In 2017, we can hope to compete again, but we will have a new group of guys working together. We can spend some money we save by not having to pay Tannehill in 2017, but it will be hard to get new guys clicking on all cylinders together. We will also likely have a 2nd year QB. It is looking like 2018 until we can start hoping for playoffs again. Perhaps by that time Brady will have retired and the division will be up for grabs in 2018. GO PHINS!!!!!

2016 - New coach, new QB
2017 - Be able to add a couple of vets into the mix. New coach will have had a full 2016 season to establish who he wants to move forward with that is on the roster already. 2 years worth of drafts on the team.
2018 - Really go for it. Add the piece(s) that take us to the next level. QB will be in year 3. Guys will have played together in the system. 3 years worth of drafts. Results should be expected.(This is why we should have began the process we are going to start in 2016 this season as opposed to having to wait out this year. This season was a total waste and we made a foolish move to give huge contracts to Suh and Tannehill. This was not the time to go for it. It was already obvious that Failbin and Tannehill were not the answers and yet we went all in with them :bobdole: )

Typical Fan make me feel better moves....lets cut guys with no consideration being made on who will replace them....you do not get better by cutting starters, you get better by having a plan and bringing in better players than what's here.....last yr we let Wallace go, didn't bring in a better player, Let Clay go, didn't bring in a better player, this is what this coaching staff and front office has done over the last 4 yrs...it has to stop..

If I am Ross I don't fire Philbin yet, this team will not be better if you fire him now....I would wait until this team is out of the playoffs officially, and then fire him....stop with the feel good moves that won't produce better results....

I think Miller and Cameron seem like the only must-signs. Miller has been steady on his carries, and Cameron is a great weapon to have.

Albert I would try and restructure his contract, he's a great player but we're paying far too much for an oft-injured LT, can never play a full 16 game season. I would like to not have to make OT a higher need in the draft/FA by keeping Albert, (instead focus on ILB and CB or DE) but it is what it is, we'll be likely shopping for OL anyways next offseason.

I could see OV and Wake tearing it up on other teams if we traded / cut them loose, but frankly I think I've seen enough of both of them. Both hitting that major decline in Miami, Fins would be unwise to fork over any kind of big money their way again.

Grimes is a great player but pretty streaky lately. I don't know that he's worth big bucks again. Not like there are any other proven CBs here though, so you might as well keep him for vet presence.
