21. Miami Dolphins

They probably can't wait to start after the troubles of last season. Joe Philbin is likely coaching for his job.

More realistic than some of the Power Rankings we saw recently(looking your way PFT). Here is the rest of the AFC East:

4. New England Patriots

Don't buy the idea that Tom Brady is running out of time. He is still playing at a high level, but just needs a little more help.

23. New York Jets

Rex Ryan thinks they will be a playoff team. He must think Geno Smith or Michael Vick will be special this season. Do you?

29. Buffalo Bills

Can EJ Manuel make the strides needed? They have talent on this roster, but, like Cleveland, it's all about the quarterback.

Saw bleacherreport list us at 32....womp womp. Power rankings are a joke.

Saw that as well. They essentially think teams like Cleveland, Minnesota, Oakland and Jacksonville are better. Oh Pre-Training camp power rankings.....

Anyways thanks Nub, and I agree much more realistic. We are no world beaters and I don't expect anyone to have us in the top ten. But I certainly don't think we should be bottom 7-8. 17-22 fits us well to start the season.

A #21 ranking is fairly consistent with Vegas books. Bovada's odds imply something between #23 to #26, and 5dimes implies about #22.

If you believe in the QB to take that big leap in year 3 then this team is a 10 or 11 win team. If you don't we're at the other end of the spectrum, it's that simple.

Everything hinges on the o-line. Period. Tanny has the skills and the playmakers around him but won't be able to excel is he's on his back.

if and thats a big if, this team is in the lower third of the nfl, in philbin and tannehills 3rd year, then this whole front office, coaching staff and qb need to be promptly shown the exit door. every single freaking year i read the same bs, this team is on an upward trend, the future looks bright, the young qb can be a franchise player! yet when the season starts its the same ole sorry ass dolphins. when does it end?

Power rankings are the equivalent of having an asshole. They're just opinions and everyone has them. :idk:

They really don't mean much in the offseason anyways...or any other time for that matter. Hell, I'm sure not a lot of people had Seattle as there number one team this time last year.

The players on this team has to make plays period! Tannehill"s problem is that he plays bad when the team around him plays bad, he doesn't win games at his position, but those 58 sacks last season could've been the difference of winning at least 2 more games. Great kid but doesn't have the moxie just yet, there are some good opponents on this years schedule that frankly if he played great he still could lose the game, but it's those teams like the Jets, Bills, and Jacksonville the dolphins should be superior to those teams but they will find a way to lose.

Years and years and years of mediocrity no one should be surprised at low ball rankings. Teams like the Miami Dolphins, you rarely ever have to put much thought into because you know they're going to be average once again.

This season, the experts should have done a little more homework on the Miami Dolphins. This team will make a noticeable improvement in 2014.

Think about how often you see JCane as an optimist.

JCane,

Look into that crystal ball and tell me is, "L.Miller going to break any tackles this season?"

Probably not. I've had issue with that kid since his Freshman year at Miami. Tons of talent, lots of speed, but he's a dancer. Always has been.

That stuff doesn't work well in college and it certainly doesn't work in the NFL. At Killian he had massive holes open up on the line and he launched like a rocket. Now he's waiting in the backfield for holes to open up so that he can spring and it's just not going to happen. He needs to learn how to follow his blockers. If he hasn't learned it by now, I don't think he will.
