QBs under contract: Ryan Tannehill, Brandon Doughty

Jay Cutler filled in after Tannehill suffered a season-ending knee injury in camp, but the Dolphins plan to go with Tannehill in 2018 and likely let Cutler head off to the broadcast booth. Miami was expressing a high level of confidence in Tannehill before his injury, and the coaching staff might turn out to be correct. But it's hard to feel great about the way things set up, especially with backup Matt Moore out on the free-agent market.

Not sure I’m understanding these rankings. Obviously it’s not ranking every teams qbs 1-32.

Jameis and Eli are ahead of us. I'm assuming if we'r talking confidence the injury hurts RT coming back. I still would think a team like the Giants will draft a QB because of the lack of confidence in Eli.

I saw the saints were 5th but they only have one scrub QB under contact right now. Weird

We have one qb who hasn’t played in two years and another who has never thrown a meaningful pass in the nfl. We should be ranked that low

I tend not to pay attention to this kind of stuff. Articles like this, and power rankings, are for people who gives a **** what ESPN thinks. Which, given their propensity for gossip-style reporting and trying to create a "flashy appeal", makes me not give a **** about ESPN.

Espn only good thing they have left is live sports and outside the lines. Occasionally 30 for 30

I generally enjoy PTI and Around the Horn, but I don't have cable so I don't really see those any more. Sportscenter has turned into trash (unless it's late-night with SVP)

....and in my opinion that is a crazy move for the Giants to do. Eli Manning was not the only problem the Giants had, he is a good QB that had a lousy coach and some injuries on that team.

Just when you thought there were no more stupid things to index and rank. How do we index and rank in games played on Thursday nights against left-handed quarterbacks who been drafted in the 5th round or later???

I get your point but... do you think there is a financial/competitive advantage to having a starting left handed QB? I mean you skimp on the LT cuz he ain’t blocking a blind nothing. And RT doesn’t expect to get big money...

Hadn’t thought about it like that but you may be onto something. I’d be curious who the tackles were for SF when Steve Young was there.

I read this today at work and was a little dumbfounded. It's not just espn....it seems like most people out there associate Miami with Jay Cutler...they seem to forget about Tanny, but who can blame them? He was just starting to play well enough to not be considered a nobody when the knee took a hit. Hard to believe it was 20 regular season games ago.
