Gase said the primary reason for Drake's modest statistics is that the Dolphins are averaging 50 plays per game, third-lowest in the NFL.

''Not good,'' Gase said. ''There are about six other guys not getting enough touches either. We need more plays.''

Its a chicken and egg question if it is looked at simplistically, by its not that simple.

If the O-line can't run block, its a moot point, and drives have to be sustained another way.

I like Gase's overall philosophy, but it is complex, and filled with nuances. It requires machinelike execution to be effective.

I can swallow the NE thrashing in foxborough, if I see some good progress the next two weeks.

TOP/sustaining drives/keeping the D off the field goes a long ways towards a winning record, and a playoff appearance.

There is some truth in that, but we aren't exactly giving RT time to have lunch back there either.

I'm not a one or the other type guy. I like versatility, but we aren't effective pass protectors either.
