Read it and weep boys, a somewhat insightful Omar Kelly article:

During those seven games the Dolphins managed a 6-1 record. In 2014 the Dolphins beat Chicago (27-14) and Jacksonville (27-13) on the road, pummeled San Diego (37-0) and the one loss was to Green Bay (27-24) on a last-second play where the defense (cough, cough Philip Wheeler) let a victory escape the team's grasp.
So in games where Albert, Pouncey and James started and finished in 2014 the Dolphins were 3-1.
Flip the page to 2015 and the Dolphins produced a 3-0 record in games Albert, Pouncey and James started and finished the contests.

Three 1st round picks should equal a good line. Those three need to get their stuff together.

It's not rocket science our offensive line is overall better when we don't have Jamil ****ing Douglas (at center) and Jason ****ing Fox starting on it

For your sanity's sake (and mine) you better hope one of these guys brought in - whether it's Bushrod or Urbik - unseats Dallas Thomas in the starting lineup, or ideally gets him off the team entirely

How is Thomas still on this team is beyond me. Is he banging Aponte or something?

So having healthy starters across the O-line improved our play, Who would have THUNK!?

That means Miami was 6-1 WITH Thomas and Turner/Douglas??????? Now I REALLY want to upgrade the OGs.

The only reason I can think of is that he's a body still on a rookie contract. They may try to coach him up to see if anything else is there - they're already in an enhanced offseason training program - but I think we've all seen enough of Dallas Thomas on this team.

Interesting they made no hesitation in cutting Fox - who was woefully bad - but are keeping Thomas.

Well then it's a good thing we bought that magic weight lifting kit so none of these guys are ever gonna get injured again.

The 6 teams we beat are all not very good. Not sure it has a lot to do with who was starting on our line. I'd be more impressed with the effort the given in the last game played when our backups pushed around a better opponent. Wins against the bottom dwellers

I struggle with the knock on weight lifting. Someone posted an article stating weight-lifting was the 1st change Gase and co made - not the ONLY thing. And notice the '1st.' Since he's a new HC, he can't give them a play book or start coaching. The only thing I can see he can do is conditioning (which includes weight lifting). I'm not going to defend weight-lifting as a cure-all or even as a major flaw in the OL. But I see no need for picking on the 1st thing to change as if anyone thinks weight-lifting, by itself, was all that was needed.

From a Macro perspective - People talk about how the NFL is different and we tend to over-complicate things. It's a pretty simple sport, now, more than ever, It's about keeping your Quarterback comfortable while making the opposing Quarterback as uncomfortable as possible.
If you achieve that you're likely to win the game.

From a micro level - I'd draw more from that if there was a New England in there, or really any of the division rivals.
The combined record of those 2014 teams beaten is 15-33.
Even during these dark times the Dolphins have been able to beat awful teams, so I'm not sure how strongly you can draw from that.
Admittedly the 2015 teams beaten are a step up, with both Houston and Washington being playoff teams, but Miami was a favorite in each of those games so even those were games they were expected to win.

Good point. If I remember correctly, the patsies had as many if not more injuries to their O- line. The difference? Their QB knows how to win games when ours doesn't. Not saying RT won't get there, but he's not there yet.

If anything, that just shows how fragile those guys are.

In the last 32 games, they only managed 7 healthy games.
