Dolphins agree to terms with LB Jamaal Westerman

What's remarkable about this signing is that the player is better than Jeremy Mincey but probably signed for a fraction of the cost.
 
jeremy mincey looked pretty dang solid to me when i saw jax play this year...in fact he looked like the only keeper de on the roster pretty much from what i saw...

I took a much closer look and while he's got a nice motor and he does a good job using his hands to keep blockers off his body, that's about all there is to him. He doesn't create anything. He collects on others' mistakes and depends on others to create favorable situations for him. He's not fast, he doesn't get any good jump off the snap whatsoever. He's not really powerful.

He and Westerman are actually really similar except I've seen more ability for Westerman to engage in a true outside rush and get narrow at the bottom to come back to the quarterback.
 
Jeeze there are some grumpy people up in here. Relax he just posted something he didnt shoot anyone. Who cares about manning ill be grumpy if we dont get flynn

yeah i can see where you get some of that...lunch pail more effort and motor player than high end talent...i thought his effort was pretty dang good...but it was also a contract year so we know how that goes sometimes
 
Effort on Mincey was through the roof. But, you know...you won't see more effort or motor than at the Special Olympics. Doesn't mean that's where I start my recruiting efforts.
