Dolphins | Allen wants to start

Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins rookie S Jason Allen said he feels comfortable at any secondary position. "I've played them all and at a very high level," said Allen. "That's why I come in thinking about being a starter. I'm not the type of guy who wants to ease into things. My goal is to be the starter as soon as possible. I believe in setting goals really high from the jump."

Gotta earn it with Saban first, hope so though, that would mean he's good!

Lets see what Saban thinks first

Saban had his say......drafting him 16th overall when everyone else had him going late 2nd early 3rd......I think that says enough

Edit: Obviously I was wrong

I thought several mock drafts had us picking him at 16?

That's the first I heard of him being a late 2nd or early 3rd round pick.

Every player should have that "I want to start" attitued.

Not true. Most had him as a mid-late first rounder, early 2nd rounder at the very worst. That's polling about 10 of the most popular ones like Kiper, Pro Football Weekly, ESPN, Sporting News, Sportsline, SI, etc.....

Late second, early 3rd?? Every mock or scouting report I saw had him going in the middle to late 1st.

he will have to prove himself ofcourse in training camp. but its always a plus when a rookie wantsto start. look at mattl leinart.no guts no glory.
