Dolphins Alumni critical of current team

“They’re going to finish third in the AFC East at best,” Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti said, adding he’s unsure if they’re headed in the right direction. “Come on, the Patriots really bolstered their team. The problem is you can’t find one area on this Dolphins team that you can call excellent. Brandon Marshall can be excellent but he wasn’t last year. They have a very good defense, but defense can only hold up so long, and I don’t see offensive firepower.

“Steve Ross is too smart a guy for them not to get there eventually. Maybe he’s been a little too patient. I don’t understand what they did in free agency. Other teams were stockpiling people. Ahmad Bradshaw would have given them a real tough running back…. If they don’t go to the playoffs, there will be a housecleaning. I don’t mean the coach – I mean everybody. I hope to hell they prove everybody wrong.”

I can see what these guys are talking about. Let's hope this further motivates the team, but damn are these guys on the money with some of these points.

He's been drinking the ESPN Kool-aid. Exactly, how have the Pats bolstered their team from last yr? Chad Ocho hasn't exactly been lighting it up and Haynesworth is overweight and out of shape.
Had the Phins signed those 2, guys like Buoniconti would be harshly critical wondering what the hell they were doing signing an agin WR and a overweight team cancer.

At what cost? This isn't Madden. Bradshaw came in for a visit and wanted too much money. Yanda, I believe re-signed with his old team.

Yanda signed for 32 million over five years. I would gladly cut Carey and his salary to swap out for a younger and better RT who can actually play RG, which Carey has shown at this point he can not.

Bradshaw signed a four year deal for 18 million. We really can not afford a little over 4 million per year for a true between the tackles runner?

I still don't understand what the big deal is. I went to USF (before they had a football team), but I'm from Miami so I'm a Hurricane fan. This may not be known to Jim Kiick, but UF is a state university and many alumni are from the South Florida area. They didn't grow up up in Gainesville.
So a local professional sports franchise wants to honor one of the state universities national championship teams as a marketing tool. So what, this isn't an affront to the Hurricanes. In fact, it has nothing to do with them. The argument I keep hearing is that many Hurricane fans are also Dolphin fans. News flash, there are also many Gator, Seminole, Bulls (USF), Knight (UCF) fans that are also Dolphin fans too.

Safe travels amigo but Kiick was 100% correct. Gators = Jets in Miami. You out of state guys will never get that.
A majority of fans that actually go to the games are also Canes fans.
Why you chose to alienate them is beyond be.
The Canes WERE Miami long before our Dolphins came along.
If you personally don't like them that's just fine but inviting the Gator was like rubbing salt into the wound. A bad idea that will backfire on them.
And remember the City of Miami allowed the Fins to play at the Orange Bowl which at the time the the home of the Hurricanes.
