Dolphins Alumni critical of current team

Heading out into the local area, after sleeping in for the first time in awhile. Much needed. Why do I expect that it will be like walking in to Foxboro today? Perhaps because last year I felt I was in Chicago. Please prove me wrong Dolfans.

big deal what good is ability if u have dissapointing overall results. Over their career Ronnie has been the more productive player although thats not saying alot but at least Ronnie was a average starter while Bush was a third down back
Their yards per carry and yards per reception are actually pretty similar. Ronnie just has twice the carries and an extra year in the league

The alumni comments don't bother me, but they are a little harsher than I would have expected.

Not a huge fan of Ireland or Sparano, but look at what they did this off season:

- signed Reggie Bush- critical, especially for 1 on 1 open field match ups that we've blown at for years

Yes, we've had a history of signing players who are frequently injured and it hasn't been good. I hope for out sake Reggie stays healthy but the odds are against it. We got him to restructure his contract and lower his salary which I think was a good move but to rely on him in this offense would be playing with fire. Enjoy him while he's here is all I can say.

- signed Kevin Burnett- same reasons above except on defense. crowder on coverage was a gaping wound, easy 3rd down conversion for opponents
This was a good signing. Crowder was hurt all the time and when he played he wasn't much better.

- drafted Clyde Gates 4th rd- will prove to be critical imo, that needed deep threat, great on same offense with Reggie Bush
Clyde Gates has a lot of potential and could be a great pick but to expect a lot from a rookie would be a little unrealistic. Especially a guy coming from Div II college football. I think next year we'll see a lot more from him but I don't expect a lot from him this year.

drafted Pouncy- needed stability at the underrated Center position. case in point- Vince Wilfork
We'll find out tonight if Pouncey's a center. He'll have his hands full with Wilfork. I would rather put him at Guard and really I would have never picked him as high as we did. I'm not even sure what the difference between Pouncey and Samson Satele is at this point. They look very similar to me so far. I haven't really seen Pouncey dominate anyone in the preseason where he just blew them off the line. We'll see. If he can anchor against Wilfork I'll be impressed.

I think that they made the right move sticking with Henne, we'll see. would've like to draft Gabbert or Ponder but the draft didn't break our way for that to happen.
I don't think we had much of a choice here given what was available. I hate trading picks away and I didn't like the QBs available when we picked at #15. Henne seems our best option but he's not the long term answer. Cowboy fans are still waiting for the light to come on for Tony Romo...still hasn't happened. I hope we don't wait around that long for Chad Henne.

And for all the people that said sign McNabb...I told you he was washed up. He's a shadow of himself and he's even more inconsistant than Chad Henne.

Oh man... you went to that game? What a ****show. I don't think you could blame dolfans for not showing up to that one. That showing was pathetic.

Um, no Jim, this is not the Miami Hurricanes stadium, it is the Miami DOLPHINS stadium. The Dolphins ALLOW them to play there after they lost their stadium. Dolphins are doing them a favor.

In other news, I am heading down to Florida now to go to the game tomorrow. Getting on an Atlanta Falcons plane.
and allowing them to tear up the turf in an already bad situation

Maybe when they finish the water park more Dolfans will show up.

I'm a little optimistic about this years team but they are in a tough division. I could see third in it as a reality. The phins have to answer alot of questions before we know where they are I guess. It is a head scrather why teams like Philly sign a QB to a massive deal as well as bring in a bunch of "A" list free agents and teams like Miami always seam to do the bare minimum in free agency.

Bare minium what about the Dansby and Marshall signings last year? Come on while they are far from perfect that is not considered bare minimum.

This year they should have signed a sturdy running back IMO and spent the extra.

Blame Dolfans for not showing up to that game? How did they know the outcome before the game even happened?

In my travels so far today I have seen two groups of Patriots fans and a Jet fan. Where are my Dolphins fans?

I know man it is embarrassing. I have been here since Sunday morning and there are so many Pats fans at
the hotel I am staying at. Even going out to eat they are everywhere. If I have to hear some dumb ***
Boston accent again I am going to lose it.

Enjoy your visit to our city. Feel free to tell all the loyal Miami fans at the stadium what you really think of them while you are there. Also if you keep running into Jet fan's I'd say your on the wrong side of town and endanger of being mugged.

The last word to Buoniconti: “My big concern is when you have a guy that has won more games than anyone in the history of football and don’t pick up the phone and ask him what is wrong with the team, then there’s a problem. They haven’t asked for Don Shula’s advice. He may be up in years but his brain isn’t.” I agree with this, Shula is one of the greatest coaches ever and would help anytime if needed, why not ask his opinion, he has more knowledge than anyone in todays game including Bill Belichick.
