Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey mutually agree to seek a trade

To me, the dead money is what it is.

It really doesn't matter all that much if we take the hit all at once or spread it out in this specific situation.
well, there's a couple of things here......if we trade him now we take the 25mill dead money.....if we trade him post June then we take the hit in 2026 but we can’t use the pick we get for him till 2026

Cant blame Grier for trying though, it was super exciting at the time. This approach has worked for some teams like the Rams who did win a Superbowl after years of not even having a 1st round pick.
While it's an exciting strategy, it usually isn't one that usually works... and even when it does, it doesn't work for long.

Personally, I HATE this strategy and always recommend against it. I've always said so.

It's possible, after their piss poor FA, specifically Borom and Eichenberg..... Ross said "that's enough" blow this up and pack your bags Grier.

Its just annoying that we waited until less than two weeks before the draft to now try and trade Ramsey. It's definitely Ramsey who wants out and of course our spineless head coach and GM will bend over backwards to accommodate him. If it was a front office decision, then why didn't we try to trade him at beginning of free agency period?

Yea thats what doesnt make sense about this whole thing, cause Grier and McDaniel are operating like they have job security when they absolutely shouldnt. I really think Ross told Brandon Shore to reel in Griers spending and make sure he doesnt ruin our cap situation for whoever takes over in 2026 if this year we dont progress and win a playoff game. So this is a year to get the books right, dont take on any long term money, get a comp pick or two, trade vets for a pick and then reset with hopefully a new GM/coach combo in 2026.

I just dont get how Grier and McDaniel are ok with this being the plan, unless they think the team is much better than it showed last year and that they have a monster draft incoming and with that draft they can really make a turnaround, cause I fail to see the reason for optimism otherwise.
First paragraph is sabotage no?

Key Phrase. "He's never been happy anywhere he's played". That is why I've lost all faith in Grier. Injured players and players with questionable character or personalities. He's never met one he didn't like. Ramsey is just another in a long line of failed trades.

Extending hill and Ramsey last year

I’m not sure how Grier is not working in the UFL

Package Ramsey in a trade down for a second and third since we need the second day picks almost more than #13. That could be the incentive a team would need to get us the picks where we need to be as far as starting potential. WE need at least 2 starters but 4 contributors would be better. With added day two and three we would have that potential. The draft is heavy with second/ third round talent.
Different subject, Will Johnson? why is everybody so high on this guy? I see an injury prone CB with non-outstanding long speed? Somebody talk me off the cliff here, please!

I call it trying to take a short cut and 99% of the time short cuts don’t work in the NFL
