Dolphins are not a playoff team with that O-Line

Meanwhile, the Browns, a team that has invested heavily in the OL and has arguably the best LT in the game just got absolutely destroyed. O-line groupies never learn.

Im, glad we got a road win in a hostle stadium and think they will be an improvement next week. Give Cleveland credit they have a decent d- line.

Who's a playoff team? Well, Denver, Cincinnati, New England, Houston, Indy, Baltimore. Other contenders include KC and Miami.

There we go. Sorry, I must've skipped past.

Cincy- 3 turnovers, 8 penalties 84 yards. 63 yds rushing as team.
NE - 3 turnovers. Won each stat battle with Buffalo yet had to kick a FG at the end to win.
Houston - Don't know yet
Denver - looked good. I'll grant you that. I do see them in the playoffs.
Baltimore - Allowing over 400 yds passing and 7 TDs. That's good?
Indy - Luck was sacked 4 times (like Tannehill). Outgained by 99 total yds. Had to score with 5 mins left to beat Oakland at home.

Why is Miami's win vs. Cleveland cause for alarm that will prevent them from making the playoffs when most of your playoff teams were far from perfect?

NFL Network analysts are saying the Pittsburgh Steelers are struggling with their the offensive line and one of the major problems with them is losing a player like Mike Wallace and how it affects the entire offense chemistry, on how other teams defend them.

So if that's true, wouldn't the addition of Mike Wallace on our team not improve our offensive line.

d-1

Reggie Bush had a fantastic run for 77 yards and finishes the day with only 90-some yards rushing. Adrian Peterson had ab78 yard run and finished with only 93 yards rushing. At this point in the season it is common for defenses to dominate and runners to have no lanes in which to run.

Passing offenses lack timing and precision. Offensive lines lack chemistry and cohesion. This usually all changes as offenses hit their strides around week 4.

It may be worth noting that the most-sacked QB last year was Aaron Rodgers. That should provide solace that this offense can survive without a stellar offensive line. Also , Green Bay currently is setting a record for longest consecutive games without a 100 yard rusher. So, we can probably make the playoffs with this offensive line. But let's hope it improves.

I happen to agree with the OP, but maybe not as severely.

Our Oline stank. Only 20 yards rushing? Are you kidding me? There were ZERO holes.

Remarkably, they held up pretty damned well in passing situations. In particular on 3rd downs. Though I thought on RT's sacks he may have held onto the ball too long.

Definitely need to get the running game going. Being one dimensional won't get it done.

I think an argument can be made that teams will stack the LOS to take away the run in an attempt to make Miami beat them by throwing the football. I think there is a sentiment that you can beat Tannehill by making him 1 dimensional. In Spite of signing Wallace it seems as if, teams think they can take away Wallace and force Tannehill to go another way. It could also be said they don't think a Hartline dominated passing attack can beat them. I think teams are in for a rude awaking!!! Hartline and Gibson are as steady as they come as a #2 and #3 WR. The O-line made adjustments and looked better in the 2nd half. I'm not saying things are great along the O-Line, I think they are quite horrendous to be honest. Things don't look promising for the unit as it is currently composed. I expect changing to the O-Line in the off season.

wait till you see what we do to the Colts OL.

coltstrung fans will be saying the same thing.

The 77 yards on that TD were receiving yards, not rushing yards.

Well put. I know people are saying its only game 1, but this was something that was happening through the preseason too it didn't just pop up during the Cleveland game.

I am just hoping that the OLine can wake up sooner rather than later because you may argue that the defensive line the Browns field is good but is it all-world? Because the OLine made them look all-world yesterday. I mean, neither Miller nor Thomas could probably even see where the hole was because right after the hand off there were multiple people in their faces.

That being said, we won so lets hope that the coaches can get on them during the week. This online was one of the few bad things in that game and if it gets cleaned up man we are looking real good.

Duh our oline is average but they held up decent against Cleveland's stud front 7. With this line doe we will have no decent running game.

I don't buy the excuse "Well, the Browns have a really good defense!" We have a really good defense and the Browns were able to at least average a pedestrian 3.6 YPC on 13 rushes. What did we average? .9 YPC...SERIOUSLY??? Were we facing the 2000 Ravens or the 1985 Bears?? This offensive line is not very good.
