Yup....do the math.....13 penalties a game.....we average more penalties a game than first downs!!!!!
 
With the good coaching we have I can't believe the team is playing so sloppy. I think it is time that Saban started coming down hard on the penalties. This has got to stop.
 
I do not believe it has anything to do with coaching. IMO it has everything to do with the players getting use to all the new players and new schemes. IMO in time this will be resolved.

New teams have a way of going through this.
 
It has everything to do with coaching. Look at what Coach Shula did when he was with Miami. His teams had the lowest amount of penalities almost every year. He was asked about it and he said he teaches discipline, and he did'nt have 1/2 the coaches that Saban has on his staff.
 
This makes me sick to read.......no wonder we can't win a game.

Especially when we all know they can play so much better. They are so much better. Right the ship now before it takes on too much water.
 
That's a ridiculous number but I think if Saban does what he needs to do this week in practice, it will improve. We face the Bucs next week, and if we commit 18 penalties when we play them the final score might be something like 23-7 in their favor. I do believe this problem will be resolved sooner then later.

We had this problem during the first 3 weeks of the season and then had 2 weeks to try to correct it. Somehow though, we got worse. Not sure what Saban is teaching as far as penalties go, but so far it has us going in the wrong direction.

We just came off the bye week, I'll put the blame on rust. But if we get 10+ penalties in the next game I'll start to question somebody.

Before that game our turnover differencial was like +1. That's changed a bit.
 
there's no excuse for these excessive penalties. They need to stop and Saban needs to set out some disciplinary measures for stupid decisions and mishaps. Saban also needs to grow a pair and crack down on this team. He doesnt have little college boys anymore. If penalties like this keep on building up, we'll keep seeing those L's in our column
 
The Fins were actually flagged 21 times -- 3 were declined. That's ridiculous!!
