He absolutely cannot be judged on last years performance. we need to give him a full season, and that doesnt mean if he starts and stinks it up with mistakes that we can him in 09 either. If he still makes mistakes, but also makes plays, we give him another year. Prime example is Eli.

Anyone who says yes in just hoping. Anyone who says no is rushing to judgement. Patience.

He has potential but it is still too early to tell. I wouldn't mind bringing in a legit QB either via free agentcy or the middle rounds of the draft in order to test him during the preseason. Nothing wrong with a little competition.

Just being able to scramble is not enough today. Beck must prove he can throw while on the move. If he can do that he has a chance. If not, his scrambling ability is useless

Everyone hopes he is, but he needs a full season under his belt before anyone could make that call. I was thrilled when we drafted him, I was thrilled when they finally made him the starter, but like any rookie, you expect the mistakes. Thats why it was important Beck got as much gametime last year as he could. I believe Beck will be our starting QB for the start of the 08 season unless Parcells and Co. believe hes not ready or is not their QB which I dont think is the case.

I think most rational fans realize that its to early to claim anything on Beck. Last year was a wash as the team was horrible with little talent. Not a fair evaluation of Becks ability. Give him 08 to develop and then make a judgement. I would bet that is what BP and company are going to do.

I've seen flashes out of him to be optimistic. The way he rebounded after that first snap in the last game showed me a lot as well. We'll see though.

Agreed, but he's going to need to play at a decent level in '08 to avoid that bust label.

Absolutely....he has A LOT to prove. But he hasn't had his chance to prove it yet. hopefully he will have his chance and succeed in 08.

Like Ginn, I think beck can perform with the right surrounding cast and system, IMO. But it's still way too early to judge Beck on his performance in 3 regular season games.

I think he's the long term answer. No ifs, ands or buts about it in my mind. Call it hope and prayer or whatever you want but, I'm 98% positive he's going to be a great one.

The only thing that could derail his career is injuries.

This is my opinion, it is not subject to change due to anyone having a different opinion. John Beck is the only person that can change my opinion.

Just being able to scramble is not enough today. Beck must prove he can throw while on the move. If he can do that he has a chance. If not, his scrambling ability is useless
Adam, did you not see the last TD strike in the Bengals game? I believe I recall you mentioning you didn't get to seet that game, and that play. Anyway, that single play along restored alot of confidence for me, and not because of the result. It was a 7 step drop, he planted, bounced a few times while going through his progressions from left to right, and then suddenly bolted out of the pocket to an open space to the right (apparently heard the rush coming from the back side; and he was about a half second from gettting taken down) and while on the run threw about a 25 yard spiralled dart into the back right corner of the end zone for Hagan. I was excited b/c in one play, he showed he could "sense" the pressure, that his first instinct was to bolt out of the pocket for open space while keeping his eyes downfield (as opposed to some QBs who sense the pressure and fold up anticipating the hit), and threw a laser strike on the run. All of this, mind you, after having endured the embarrasment he caused himself with that first snap/fumble/TD; that took someone with guts to hold himself together.

You and I obviously differ on our opinion of JB, but I'll say that while I'm not totally sold on him (need to see more of him), I do believe he has the raw talent to pull it off and be a big time winner. He'll never be a Marino, but he'll be the best Mormon QB this town has ever seen! (LOL)
