Dolphins begin coaching search...campbell a candidate

Ross says there are no shortcuts to winning in that statement. That's amusing. Since he seems to equate FA splashes with winning.

Ugh here we go once again. With Harris and Tannenbaum involved and Ross' love for New York is there any doubt we will end up with a former Jet coach? Wake me when this groundhog day movie is over.
 
Bye Dan. Wouldn't publicly conduct a search if you had any intentions of keeping the guy that you had. It's nice of them to say, though.

I agree he's gone, but they would still have to conduct a "search" and interview minority candidates even if they were going to keep Campbell.
 
The whole letter.....

As we enter our final game, I want to simply say, thank you.

I had high expectations headed into this year and the on-field results have been disappointing ... for you, our staff, our coaches, our players and alumni players, and certainly for me. Through it all, your support has been unwavering. We had capacity crowds at every home game and thousands of you joined us on the road. Everyone at the Dolphins appreciates your consistent loyalty and support.

This team belongs to you. It belongs to each one of you who has been here through it all; both our celebrations and our challenges.

There are no shortcuts or magic formulas to winning. I know it will take hard work for us to get where we want to go and I can assure you that everyone at the Dolphins is working hard to honor the proud winning tradition of our great franchise.

We are going to conduct a thorough process led by Mike Tannenbaum to select our head coach that will not be constrained by convention in our approach. This search will be thorough and we will take it wherever we need to go. I appreciate everything Dan Campbell has done this season and he has earned the opportunity to be considered for head coach. We have also identified several promising candidates and will begin work immediately.

We will have more to say on that topic following the season. Your support is a critical element to our efforts to build a winning team and we all appreciate you. I look forward with optimism to more celebrations in the future together.

See the last sentence? More celebrations? We haven't had one yet since he's owned the team, have we? Did I miss it? Damn it, what did I miss?
 
Campbell being interviewed is comical because he doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of getting the job. It's only being done as a courtesy to him.
 
The only way Dan stands a chance is if we get shunned similar to what happened to fist pump!

Even then, I completely promise you he will not be the coach. What happened this week guarantees there is absolutely no chance of that ever happening.
 
With Tannenscum involved in the HC search and not being fired this franchise will continue to suck for many years to come.
The FO needs to go including him but Ross has no balls as usual.
This team will never learn.

The Campbell interview is solely designed to reward an employee who stepped into an impossible situation. He isn't going to get the job. He needs three to five years of experience as an offensive coordinator before he will be ready for it. View it as a professional courtesy and nothing more.
