The Dolphins have been moving up the list quickly in signing their 2008 draft picks. Next up on the list, it would seem, is third-rounder Kendall Langford, a defensive end out of Hampton University.

''Although we've been talking, we're not close,'' said Adisa Bakari, Langford's agent.

Bakari did agree with agents for the six already-signed draftees, however, that the Dolphins have seemed interested in working with alacrity since just after the draft.
I love that Parcells and Ireland are moving so fast to lock these guys up. I would expect Langford to be locked up to a deal before June is out. Merling and Henne though probably won't sign until the week prior to Training Camp.

Not a good sign that there not close...This FO usually comes in with a good offer then the small details are worked out. I don't like for one, the agent is talking to the media and two he's saying where not close. These last three may have to wait until the market is set. Which will not be until close to training camp when the picks before them are signed.

That is awesome news! If we have all our rookies signed and in camp I'll be ecstatic.

I don't think it is really that big of a deal. Picks in rounds 4-7 are always much easier to sign. Just because they are "not close" in early June doesn't mean they won't be in late July. Plenty of time to hammer out a deal, and at least the two sides are talking. Most of the draft picks in the NFL probably won't even start talking contracts with teams until late June/early July. To have six picks already under contract and working on #7 is amazing at this point of the offseason.

I think they want these guy's "all of them" in camp now.I wouldn't be surprised if they were all done by Friday. I know some may think that's unrealistic, but I don't think Bill or Wayne want these guys missing anything.
