Edit try this new link then.

Only snipped some of the article more at the above link.

Bill Parcells emerged from his beloved bunker the other day to return a phone call and provide an amusing answer to the biggest question in the NFL these days.
"Okay Bill, what are you doing with the first pick?"
He laughed over the phone from South Florida and said, "I am unable to divulge anything at this point."

Parcells left the impression he would love to trade down a few times...

"I'm not sure anybody is interested in the pick," Parcells said. "The economics of the pick are a little more devastating if it doesn't work out. You have to have some willing partners of the trade-down thing. We're in position where we are assuming we are going to make the pick."

"If you're asking me directly if we are going to draft a quarterback, that has some possibilities," he said. "I'm always in the market for somebody if I think he can be a franchise quarterback. It's a little bit hard to tell (about Beck), not really seeing him under fire. We haven't decided anything yet, but we will. We're working on it. There's not much going on. I can just tell you that."

Just stating the obvious. They'll probably decide after their meeting with Ryan if they think he's franchise material. I'm pretty sure they're about 90% decided already one way or the other

I found it interesting that Bill would talk to the Ny Press but not the Miami Herald. LOL I guess he doesn't think much of the press in Miami either. :)

I also detect a hidden threat that he will draft Matt Ryan, hear that Altanta. Time to give it up. :)

Hey we New Yorkers stick together. Jersey is like our little brother

Definitely. I think he's trying to get the Rams to trade up to draft Chris Long and the Chiefs, Ravens or Falcons to trade up for Ryan. But like he said its probably not going to happen

I hope your wrong but your probably right.

Tough call, I for one don't care for Beck, so drafting Ryan is ok by me. But I would love to have Jake Long there also.

Can you blame him. I sure dont

I think that almost everything that he said was just the company line. we don't know yet. that's a possibility. we haven't fully evaluated him yet......

except the thing about trading down is as real as it gets....and it's something that people on this board need to read over and over and over again.

Why can't Parcells ever say anything positive in regards to Beck?? He could at least mention the fact that Beck has been working his tail off all off-season long in an attempt to make a positive impression on the coaches. He could say anything, but still we hear nothing....

I just find it odd that no matter what Beck does {which has been mostly hard work}, Parcells never gives him any vote of confidence in regards to the starting QB position. Maybe it's just me, but I think the reason why Parcells wont back Beck publicly, is because he's not convinced in his abilities as a starting QB. Just my opinion...

IN TUNALAND WE TRUST!!!!

i think by him not saying anything good about beck makes other teams think we are in love Ryan and intice other teams to trade up if they want him. But in reality, IMO we like the dedication and improvement beck has made and are going with Chris Long.

That's just the type of coach he is. He really didn't say too many great things about Romo either when he first started.
