“We have to start practicing like it’s the game,” safety and defensive co-captain Yeremiah Bell told Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. “We have to do that because so far, we’ve been playing a lot like we practice.”
Said running back Daniel Thomas, “I definitely agree with that, we have a lot of mental mistakes in practice, and sometimes it carries on into the game.”
The Dolphins work on their red zone packages in Friday practices, and when asked why they’re struggling in the red zone on Sunday, quarterback Chad Henne said, “We’ve just got to do better in practice on Friday.”
Bell said that as a captain, he sees it as his job to change the way the team practices.
“That’s why we’re captains on this team,” Bell said. “It’s our job to get guys going and get them energized so they do what they need to do to win.”
That’s also why there are coaches on the team. None of the players said so directly, but indicting the Dolphins’ practices is also indicting the Dolphins’ coaches.

excuses excuses, we need to do this, we need do that , come sunday , we dont do **** and we get our *** kicked. Im not buying it anymore or gettin excited about sundays anymore. I'll always support my team but as of right now my expectation for sunday are extremely low...

This is a reflection of our coaching staff and how much the team buys into their program.

This whole situation gets worse by the minute. Players blaming eachother, coaches blaming players. I think the players are indirectly blaming the coaches but don't want to be fined for making derogatory statements to the media. I'm wondering who's not playing up to their ability. Hope it's not Solia after he got the franchise tag and ridiculous amounts of money. Any idea which players?

convenient. blaming their poor performance on the one thing that the fans are not able to scrutinize because they can't observe it.

Players blame bad play on bad practices, fans blame bad practices on bad coaching.

Tells how bad our offense really is, if they can't score on our defense in the red zone. No other team seems to have trouble doing it.

Overall...our biggest problem is confidence in this team and administration...a proposal that I think would work (looking to next year) are the following:

1) Fire Tony Sparano: as much as I like him, he is losing the player's confidences, and the fans are not showing up to the game. Both are huge problems, and this cannot continue if we want a strong organization and contender. The next coach needs to bring a new energy....think John Harbaugh with the Ravens, Rex Ryan with the Jets, Raheem Morris with the Bucs, Jason Garrett with the Cowboys, Sean Payton with the Saints.
2) Fire Jeff Ireland, its official that we have all lost confidence in his ability to evaluate talent...even the pick of Vontae Davis is now being questioned to some degree...not to say that Vontae is not a good player, but there was much better talent available in the draft....Clay Mathews (now one of the very best OLB in the league), Hakeem Nicks, Kenny Britt--> all of which were needs of our team at the time. Pat White was a thoughtless pick. John Jerry was atrocious when you think about the fact that we had the opportunity to select Jimmy Graham in the 3rd round, and we actually liked Jimmy Graham. Koa Misi, an up and comer, is not a better selection than Aaron Hernandez or Rob Gronkowski, or Nate Allen.
3) Change our uniform: dont everyone come at me with a pitchfork just yet....I like our uniform, I really do. But part of changing this organization around, comes down to the smallest detail. We need something kind of like the new Bills uniform. Classic but not TOO classic. Use more teal and orange. maybe a lighter teal and orange.
4) Change at QB: This is obvious! No matter how good Henne plays statistically it does not constitute in wins...and that is more important than stats. Henne has lost the confidence of the fans and, despite what Marshall says, Marshall knows that Henne is not a franchise QB. The new QB must be a 1st round pick because it shows that the new coaching staff really has conviction to their choice and are willing to bank their jobs on this new guy.
5)Trade/Cut Hartline: we have enough possession WR's to make a QB go mad. We need real speed...think Devery Henderson, DeSean Jackson, Mike Wallace, Nate Burleson, Lee Evans. If Clyde Gates cannot mold into that role, we need to go find that WR.
6) Trade/Cut Fasano: We need a real pass catching TE in this offense, preferably through free agency, unless there is a TE in the draft that looks like Antonio Gates, Dustin Keller, or Jimmy Graham, and is freakishly athletic. Giving our new QB a pass catching TE will relieve the QB's stress in the endzone.
7) Not try to emulate any other organization. We need to be the Miami Dolphins, not the Dallas Cowboys, not the New England Patriots, not the Pittsburgh Steelers. One of the good things the wildcat did for our team was allow us to define a new element to the game that we, as the miami dolphins, were able to create. I see a current trend being toward the use of 2 TE sets...Im not opposed to it...but I dont want to emulate everything the New England Patriots do, we already followed them and the Steelers into using a 3-4 defense. IM NOT SAYING WE SHOULD DESOLVE THE 3-4!!!!! Im saying we need to add our own innovations to the game, and if it doesnt work...try something else. I like the idea of a spread offense, but i dont want to be the saints or the packers...
8) When the media talks about us...we need a clear cut leader at QB when refering to our offense...for example: Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints, when Brett Favre was at the Vikings..."brett and the vikings", romo and the cowboys, etc. We can hardly say here comes "Henne and the Miami Dolphins", Ive heard more here comes "Reggie Bush and the Miami Dolphins"...Reggie Bush has never had a 1,000 yd rushing season but is being heralded as our leader on offense?!

This has now gone too far when the players are criticizing their practice intensity after two weeks. Like Tony or not Ross has to nip this in the bud. Tony sealed his fate when he said he didn't know what to do and the players say intensity in practice is insufficient.

Give Daboll or Nolan the helm now and lets try and right the ship early as waiting until the bye week is only going to prolong the inevitable.
