Dolphins blew it with passing on Herbert

Nonsense. He's been more accurate than not, until the Broncos game.
Not really. With 4 starts, in 2 of them his completion % is a very mediocre 55%, the third was an ok 60%, and the 4th a very good 71%. Tua has had one truly "good" game, Arizona.

Stop the nonsense. The kid was totally rattled last game and looked bad.

Blame it on the weather or the receivers or the lunar cycle but

doesn't change the fact he looked bad.

Before that he made some very nice plays but also missed his share of opportunities.

Doesn't mean he blows. Doesn't mean he's great. So we have to see what transpires from here

and hope the kid is the answer. The Jets DC is a nasty bastard and he'll be coming after Tua for sure.

I'm sure Gase would love to embarrass him. So there's another test coming and then another...

We're comparing apples and big wheels here... For one thing, Tua just played his 4th game after almost a full year without playing a meaningful snap coming back from a serious injury. Veteran NFL QBs are rusted after time off like that so I wouldnt expect a rookie to look like nothing happened, especially with no pre-season.

Then you've got Herbert who plays in an environement where they need to score alot of points to win games, compared to the Fins who shut down as soon as they get a lead. In other words the Fins are asking Tua to win games conservatively while the Chargers are telling Herbert to have fun and chuck it. Not litterally, of course but you get the picture. Tua is being asked to get the team to the playoffs, Herbert has been out of that picture for awhile now. Dont believe me? Tua just got benched for falling back 10 points behind on the road. That's pressure.

I know its early to access them but... you can do an eye test.

Herbert is a tall athletic strong armed playmaker. He looks like he belongs and can be a great QB than can win games and not just manage them.

Tua is a soft arm, small, non athletic accurate passer that was surrounded with talent at Alabama. He is a game manager/scheme QB at best.

As far as relievers not getting open, its half Tuas fault. He throws a softer ball which takes longer to get to the receiver. This results in DBs getting to the ball and everything is going to be contested.

I'm welcome to criticism, but please back it up with facts and not emotions.
You saw how Herbert was against pressure when he played us!!! Too will be fine!!

Imagine Tua being 2-7 but having good numbers. Would you still say he was going to be a great QB?

id probably be able to see the other elements that were wrong with the team.

Imagine being smart enough to do that before we got rid of pro bowler, comeback player of the year tannehill? Instead of wasting picks on quarterbacks we could have fixed the offensive line and been competing for a meaningful playoff berth. Now, we are still looking for a guy that can throw a ten yard out to the far side of the field.

What about Tua's arm is explosive? Honestly. He's been known as an accurate deep ball thrower but not explosive by any means. Herbert has an explosive arm. Nobody has had the level of receiver talent at A ok Alabama that Tua's had, except Mac Jones and their offense might be better than ever.

His release. He may not have the biggest arm in the league but his release is lightning quick. That's not particularly controversial.

Tannehill had 7 years to show something other than mediocrity. He couldn’t.
