Dolphins-Bucs postgame: Five things nobody is talking about

Good points, all of them. I'm especially fond of the 0 turnovers part. Last year it was a given that at some point we'd cough up the ball and send an over-worked defense back out on the field.

While no turn over's are very important...the penalties are just as bad...they also mostly lead to turning the ball over.

Except when they don't. And when they're not referenced in TFA.

And they committed no turnovers against a very good Bucs defense. That is very promising for both Beck and Henne.

I like Thomas next to Carey on the right side.. Thomas looks awesome run blocking .. the R&R express are going to love those two guys.. I totally disagree with Daniels though, he stinks and I don't see him around much longer.. As soon as we get a corner or two he's gonzo.

I thought he played pretty well. Had a real nice play in front of the receiver deep and had a chance to intercept. Wilford's the one I want to strangle.

Good points, with these caveats:

Regarding Bell, at this point I'm more concerned with him staying healthy for a prolonged period of time, than I am him making a pro bowl.

Regarding Daniels, I'm not sold yet.

Regarding Pennington and Favre, I think your wrong about the 10 yard slants, they are referring to 20 yard or greater ATTEMPTS, which would preclude 10 yard incompletions or completions from skewing the results.

I agree the O-line and running game have a nice future, Pennington is the type of QB that could have success here if that O-line gives him time to work, he's also a perfect mentor for Henne and Beck.

Hey all! I went ahead and put together a list of items that nobody (or very few people) are talking about:
http://www.realfootball365.com/index.php/articles/dolphins/12320

Let me know your thoughts on these 5 items.

Bell's still not a ball hawk:

Well I would like to see more picks obviously, but as long as he stays on the field and all he does is sack the QB and break up passes, I'm fine with that.

Carey's solid on the right side:

I think most of us expect this. I don't mean to sound ****y, but Carey has been our best Olinemen. I think he will be a pro bowl RT. One of the few if not Only good decision Spielmen made as the Dolphins GM, even though he was suckered out of an extra pick in the process.

Daniels puts toastmaster label to rest (for the time being):

I honestly don't believe Daniles stands a chance to make this team. Thats unfortunate, cause I like the guy. With all the secondary help BP brought in this off season and the fact that players are soon to be released all around the league, not to mention Jason Allen getting better every day (imo) I think TD is out.

Pennington better than Favre at throwing the deep ball?:

Smoke and mirrors! Silly conversation piece at best.

Sixty minutes played, zero turnovers:

Hard to focus on that when the Defense was a fixture on the field for most of the game add the 10 penalties and we have enough to talk about.

I like the article. I think there is something else that we are not talking about. Henne being the only one to put us in a position to get points. I could give Beck a small pass on this considering he played for what 3 drives. He didn't look bad, he didn't turn the ball over, and he did that against a very solid Bucs 1st team defense ranked in the top 5 last year.

That being said, I didn't get a chance yet to watch the entire game but I watched the 1st half. I'm a bit disappointed that McCown couldn't even get us in a position to get 3 points against the 3rd and scrub Buc teams.

I mean he's a veteran QB. It's 1 thing if you come in and don't get points playing against a 1st team, but against the scrubs?????? C'mon. Can someone fill me in on their opinions of that?

I'm definitely looking forward to watching Pennington play. Maybe we can generate some 1st team points.

Everyone is talking about that. There are at least 15 start Henne posts a minute on the forums.

I don't think they are referring to who throws it farther or with more zip, they are talking about efficiency when they do throw over 20 yards.

Favre is the all-time interception leader and a bit careless when he goes deep.
