Change in the secondary seemed inevitable when Miami finished 25th in the league against the pass last season. It became a focal point when cornerback Andre Goodman and free safety Renaldo Hill left in free agency, and a necessity when the schedule revealed that the Dolphins would face quarterbacks Matt Ryan, Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers in the first three games.
The Dolphins responded by signing free safety Gibril Wilson and cornerback Eric Green in free agency, and then drafting cornerbacks Vontae Davis and Sean Smith with two of their first three picks.
