A lot of people wanted to point toward a favorable schedule last year as the biggest reason for that unbelievable turnaround, but I disagree. You don't go from 1-15 to being a playoff team simply because you're playing a few weaker opponents.

The NFL doesn't work that way. It's too competitive. Instead, I think you need to credit the arrival of Tony Sparano as head coach and the arrival of Chad Pennington at quarterback.

Where are Camarillo, Hartline, and White on that roster? Do they not make it?

Your title is misleading, but I agree that a team does not go from 1-15 to 11-5 because of a weak schedule. No analysts believe that the schedule accounts for a 10 game swing. The analyst do believe we won one or two more games last year than we should have (2 lucky wins). Also, they believe that the tougher schedule should reduce our win total by 2 games. That would be a 7-9 season. There is some justification for this position. The Ravens proved that a good front seven could completely shutdown our offense. The reasons was that the offensive line was not good enough to compete with top level defensive talent.

This position completely overlooks the transforming affect that swapping Jake Grove for Satele will have on our running game. I believe the analysts are misjudging the growth we will see in Roth, Langford, and Merling. This team has improved enough to offset the more difficult schedule. I think that 9 to 11 wins is a reasonable expectation.

I get more cogent and accurate analysis listening to you guys. When you don't even get right who IS on the team, don't expect me to listen to your conclusions. With that being said, the article was not as negative as I thought it might be.

That is his projected depth chart, not 53 man roster. He just has starters and their backups at every position. There are only 47 players on the list.
