Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins may experiment with OT Vernon Carey at guard.

Dolphins | Hadnot may see time in the middle
Mon, 1 May 2006 10:37:57 -0700
Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins OL Rex Hadnot may yet see time at center next season. Due to injuries he saw some time at center last season but was expected to return to guard.

Dolphins | Pearson added for depth
Mon, 1 May 2006 10:03:30 -0700
Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports recently signed Miami Dolphins OL Mike Pearson will likely backup OT L.J. Shelton on the left side.

Dolphins | Team signs McNeil
Mon, 1 May 2006 10:24:47 -0700
Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports the Miami Dolphins have agreed to terms with undrafted rookie free agent C Chris McNeil (Mississippi State). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

If you put a gun to my head and asked me what our OL will be next season, I'd say: Shelton-James-Hadnot-Carey-Macintosh

Not the most talented line in the league, but pretty decent.

both are speculation. as both say MAY......Im not sure why Carey would be moved in the middle, his biggest problem is run blocking. McIntosh would seem like the best fit, hes good at run blocking...

i dunno....

Carey isnt a good fit at Guard... I doubt he gets moved there... and if so... I dont think he will be there long...

he was a great Guard at the U...but i agree, hes not a great fit IMO.

jot it down. Our OL will dominate.
Houck has much more bodies and depth to work with this year. It's unmeasurable what houck could do with these guys, though after what he did last season.....I can't wait. The feeling I got last year was that he was playing some guys by "who's the less worse". Now he'll be able to choose by "who the best player" for each position.
The only position I can't see a huge improvement is C. Although we have at least the status quo in Seth. gotta hope for Hadnot or Smith, or the rookie to be good surprises there.
If you ask me what areas of this team will make the better improvements next season I don't know if I say secondary or offensive line.

McIntosh may be able to play guard as that was his projection when he first entered the league. We'll have to see...

If that happens

LT- Shelton, Pearson
LG- James, Alabi
C- Hadnot, McKinney, Smith
RG- McIntosh,
RT- Carey, Toledo

Would look like the chart now.

I know I think Pearson will start at RT your talking about a guy who in his rookie season gave up 1 sack. Carey will move to G I have always thought he is better at the run then block, Hadnot will start at Center. Saban in the PC sounded like he really wants things to work for Pearson.

Toledo,Alabi, and Berger seem like locks and Mckinney could backup Hadnot. Dmac will more then likely be the backup LT. ALabi Backup RT and Toledo and Berger will backup G. Goodbye Wade Smith and CJ Brooks Opening day should look like this....

LT- Shelton
LG- James
C- Hadnot
RG- Carey
RT- Pearson

McIntosh>>>>Pearson

If neither McIntosh or carey dont move gaurd, i dont even know that pearson will make the team.

Houck now has a stable of heavyweights to compete for OL positions, meaning we'll dominate on the OL next season! Can't wait!

In Saban We Trust!

That's some pretty serious speculation on the part of the reporter after Saban was just on NFL Network on Saturday saying that Carey progressed very nicely last year.

its now obvious that Saban DOES love the big meat eaters.

Hadnot 6'2, 325
Shelton 6'6, 345
McIntosh 6'6, 320
James, 6'4, 320
Alabi, 6'5 315
Carey 6'5, 335
Pearson 6'7, 302

now yeah, Pearson doesnt weigh much...but hes a giant.

only because Miami needed him to move there. He was much better at tackle...

That would be a pretty decent lineup. But I'm thinking Alabi stays at LT and Toledo possibly moving to Guard.
