Gotta figure Carroll is dunzo. I mean, 'knee injury'? Probably season-ending even if it's minor at this stage of the season. Too bad. The fact that a will Davis played and Jamar Taylor didn't suit up is not reassuring. Must still be hurt or just incredibly ineffective in practice. Probably the latter because of the former.
I'd be surprised, though, if that Michael Thomas kid started sucking. The kinds of plays he made aren't just luck. As I've said in other threads, he made an open-field tackle on Vereen that was like, 'Wow', early in that drive too. You get a db who can tackle well and you can really affect a game.
Maybe I'm giving the kid too many props cuz of wishful thinking, but he definitely put some good play on film.
I doubt that PS player we got from the Colts today will be as good, but if we need extended minutes out of Thomas and Will Davis, then we need more ST guys so our now-starting cbs don't risk injury on KR or PR coverage.
