Dolphins claim Pats TE Will Yeatman

actually, i think they only have two on the roster. yeatman they were getting ready to sign to PS. good work ireland!

hahaha! dude might not make it, but what if he does? BB is so pissed right now.

You are correct which it made it all the more surprising they cut BOTH Yeatman and Smith.

Who the heck is this guy? Is he just practice squad fodder?

So going out on a limb here but would guess Spitler or Mitchell was cut? No way we carry 10 LB. Not that I saying we should be a slave to traditional roster spot allocation but come on.

Didn't Mastrud make the team? Because I would think the logical cut would be him.

Pretty interesting story. EX-Notre Dame student who transfered to Maryland to play Lacrosse and eventually football. Very raw but did very well for being so raw during preseason and spent some time with the 1s on the Patriot offense. Work in progress and don't expect seam threat. Expect blocking specialist.

Yeah he did but I would just have to wonder with relying on a player coming in as your #2 right away. I kinda expect them to ease him in and take Mastrud's spot eventually. I'm not sure how much the #2 TE will see the field in this offense though so who knows.

Wow, a fellow MD alum huh? Sweet

I count Clay more as a tight end than a fullback. In this offense that's how I expect him to be used. I haven't really seen anything out of Mastrud that would tell me he's better suited to block right now than a blocking tight end like Yeatman (granting that I haven't seen Yeatman play).

I just find it hard to believe they'll keep three pure tight ends and an H-back.

might be though. one injury to a pure TE leaves us scary thin at that spot. i wouldn't trust Clay to be an in-line blocker at all.

And to think we drafted John Jerry and could have had
Jimmy Graham or Aaron Hernandez

Wish we would have put a claim in for Benglas TE Chase Coffman. He was not happy going there and I guess they gave him his wish to leave.
