Dolphins claim Pats TE Will Yeatman

I don't think we'll cut Mastrud before the NE game because if Fasano goes down during that game Idk how much you want to rely on Clay as a straight TE. Give Yeatman a week or two to get caught up to speed before we get rid of Mastrud

Same point I was making before. I would assume its one of the 10 LBs.

It appears that Yeatman is the only player the Dolphins claimed. I am a little surprised by that, as I expected two to three claims.

I think we will snatch a guy or two off of someone PS and let go one of the LB

me too im thinking we would have picked up an offensive lineman by now
considering murtha is now IR

Pretty interesting story. EX-Notre Dame student who transfered to Maryland to play Lacrosse and eventually football. Very raw but did very well for being so raw during preseason and spent some time with the 1s on the Patriot offense. Work in progress and don't expect seam threat. Expect blocking specialist.

I envision GL blocking with the occasional slip into the secondary and catch a TD from unsuspecting LB's covering Reggie.

Im hoping we are working on a trade or something. Right now, our O-line depth is slim pickings...and we have 2 RB's, plus Hilliard who is most likely going to be our FB. I have to think we are going to pick up another RB. I really wanted Brandon Saine...hes on Green Bay's practice squad by the way.

Will Yeatman may have outperformed Lee Smith in training camp, I really don't know, but in the preseason I don't think he did, personally. Yeatman was not as good a blocker as Smith on tape and it's not like he lit anything up in the passing game. He's slow, like a 5.1 runner and you can see that. The thing he's got going for him is he's huge, and that will help him get the job done in some blocking assignments even if he's not using his hands right or quick enough to get the proper leverage, which is what you see happening a lot when he plays.

If he has any critical blocking assignments, I'm not sure I trust him against NFL starters. A lot of the backups he faced got the better of him without really knowing what they were doing, just based on athletic ability and explosiveness, but they took a little while to get the better of him. More polished players will have an easier time dealing with his size.

I think he more or less red shirts, while Jeron Mastrud gets the bulk of snaps handed to a #2 Tight End.

I just looked Yeatman up, and apparently some scouts thought that coming out he'd end up being switched to OL... he's already 270, maybe we have him as a TE this year, and have him bulk up to play OL next year... That may be a better fit than TE for him, considering that he runs a 5.08 40 at 270.

That's a possibility. He kind of runs his routes like he's got a 2x4 jammed up his arse. Blocking will be his trade in the NFL.

So who did we cut. I find it funny that the beat writers can tell us about number changes but fail to notice who is missing. ???
