Dolphins claim Pats TE Will Yeatman

That's a possibility. He kind of runs his routes like he's got a 2x4 jammed up his arse. Blocking will be his trade in the NFL.

His running style (which is to be expected since its not what the team is expecting out him) reminds me of Joey Haynos. That may bring up horrible visuals for some but Yeatman's running style reminds me of him.

Wasn't he waived today to make room for their claims?

Yes, Coffman was waived today and I imagine will be picked up before he goes thru the waiver process. Good solid TE, just hate where he was and let it be known before he even reported to their camp.

Has he bulked up at all yet? And can he play RT?

For the long time fans out there, we drafted a blocking tight end named Ronnie Lee, pretty high (third round IIRC) circa late 70s. He sputtered along as a TE for a few seasons, came back to Miami as a RT, and started for a long time. When he was a TE, you kept hearing that he could be a tackle some day and, sure enough, it worked out great.

It will be interesting to see if he sticks or if we dump him as soon as we get info on the Pats.

London, Sheets, now Yeatman the Finheaven folk hero trifecta.

According to who? I have yet to read anyone's grand exclamation that Yeatman is a future stud. We needed a blocking TE and hopefully we got one. If not keep claiming or poaching PS until we do. Look at last year we claimed or poached three TEs. (Shuler, Mastrud, and Epps) Who all suck. Whats wrong with being hopeful the dude works out.

Nothing wrong with being hopeful, I am just being realistic. These guys are wiffing on high draft picks so don't mind me when I don't think a project te won't amount to nothing more then camp fodder. Everyone is saying he is a excellent blocker. Against who a bunch of 3rd or 4th stringers he saw playing time against!

I was suprised that the Pats cut him he did a great job blocking in the preseason. The Pats drafted Lee Smith in the 5th round who was supposely one of the top blocking TEs in the draft, Yeatman was much better than him. Yeatman and Smith were both listed at 6-5 268 lbs, Yeatman looked bigger than Smith. Don't expect much in the passing game, but he's a good fit with the Dolphins power run game and has some upside.

Yeatman played with the 1st string in the last 3 preseason games along with Gronk and Hernandez.
