On re-signing offensive tackle Vernon Carey, linebacker Channing Crowder and safety Yeremiah Bell: "We spent at the end of this thing $70 million on three players to make sure those players were here. That being said, the players wanted to be here. I'm sure they all would have had options out there (as free agents)."

Sorta OT but, nice to see the league going out of it's way to make a rule that makes sure Tom Brady doesn't suffer another season ending injury! :rolleyes2:
