Dolphins Combine Meetings

Many seem to believe that Chubb is a June 2nd cut or trade if possible, and many want that. Also JP15 has suffered 2 back to back major injuries to what provides explosion and bend, and are we positive he'll be the same player he was before those injuries?
Obviously we have some dire needs across the lineup to include OL, DL, but we have 10 picks and free agency hasn't started.

Edge certainly is a position of concern. You do not win without disruption from both edges.
I wouldn't mind taking Pearce at 13. We would be set on the edge for the present and future with Chop and Pearce.

I don't think Phillips and Chubb are going to be with the Dolphins for much longer.

Chubb could easily be a post June 1 release and Phillips will probably only be with the Dolphins for 1 more season.

I would like to draft an impact player with pick 13 and not just draft an OL because its a need. I think any OL we would draft at 13 would be a reach anyway since Campbell and Banks are both likely to be gone.

I am starting to like Wyatt Milum at 48.

Pearce and Milum would be a great Round 1-2 combo.

I don’t think 1st round RBs are ever worth it unless you are a team built like the Eagles. Saquon was a very good player for the Giants, but he didn’t become a true game changer until this year. We would waste 4-5 years of Jeanty’s career until he signed with a team who actually has an OL.
Yeah, there's a little bit of Reggie Bush in his game. At least in how he makes players miss and some of those moves. But with Achane and Wright, Miami really just needs to add a bigger back, which think they can find much later.

I am waiting to see Walter Nolen’s name here. Mykel Willams will be a solid 4-3 DE, but we need someone who can play 3 and 5 tech to replace Campbell. Even if he decides to come back for another year, Nolen is a day 1 contributor. Not to mention Seiler is going to be 30 as well.
Agree. Nolen is in my top five. I love those inside guys who can pressure the quarterback. Those players are invaluable IMO.

I don’t see the dolphins moving on from Phillips, Chubb perhaps but not Phillips

Mcdaniel hinting that holland doesnt want to be in miami with his we want guys who want to be here
Holland was never in Miami, he lives in the imaginary world of the Twitterverse.

He bougie for the internet.

JP15 was not a mistake draft selection lol...he suffered 2 injuries that were not concussions, which was his collegiate injury profile. These unfortunate things happen in a violent game. It sucks. It is what it is.

Chubb was a desperate move in an attempt to move the needle, while he had an impact for others initially, his 2nd season he was good...but because we signed him, we lost CW94. After June 2nd we might have neither guy.

I want a blue chip talent with 13 and there will be a few available...jury is out on who we select. Drafting a star edge wouldn't be a bad selection imho.

I'd rather see Tyler Warren to be honest as he affects pass protection, run blocking, the seam and the red zone...but if we landed a bonafide stud pass rusher who blossoms with Chop the next 8-10 years we would benefit greatly from that.

Free agency needs to bring in starters at G, DL, CB and S...it's doable. For the draft we have 10 selections, and off averages 5 should hit.

I'd like to go Warren 1st, Donovan Jackson 2nd, then hit S, DL, CB maybe with trade ups into 3rd-5th rounds.

If they go Warren in round 1 and Jackson is round two I’d ecstatic. You’d see the return of optimistic fan boy.

I don’t think Jackson lasts until 48. It is a fairly weak OL class for guys ready to start day 1. I believe he will end up going before the run on college OTs that will be forced to play inside in the NFL as he is a true LG.

I agree , UNLESS my prediction of a run on second tier QB’s happens early in the second round. I think Dart, Howard and McCord all go before the Dolphins pick in round two. This leaves serious talent on the board in round two for Miami.

I agree with Phillips and Chubb looking like they wont be here long term. I think this is their final year, and Chubb likely gone this year. Pearce is an interesting prospect, a little light at the moment as I think we need a big edge with Chop on the other side, but I wouldn't be unhappy with Pearce.

Wyatt Milum, moves like Logan Mankins, is built like Mankins as well. I like him a great deal, he can see him doing exactly what Patriots used to be when their OLT went down and Mankins would slide from guard to OLT and it was very functional for them. He is going to be a good player.

It's just funny to me if they take Edge in round 1, basically admitting mistakes on Phillips and Chubb. Just another drop in the ocean of awful Grier decisions.
Both were not mistakes. Injuries happen, and sadly it hit both. 11 sacks for Chubb in his only full season with Miami isnt half bad.

Depends on the rookie. Guys have been making the transition very quickly to the NFL. Bo Nix, Jaden Daniels come to mind as youngsters who came in and surprised people. We've been the veteran back up route with Fitz, Matt Moore and Jay Cutler and didn't win a thing. We tried with Skyler and that was a blithering failure so I'm wide open. Just do not ignore the position again. Fix the QB room. Get a FA and develop a stud for the future. But if Tua and the FA back up go down we're gonna hope the kid can play a little!! Use the 3 rd rounder for back up QB, see who drops to us and how he stacks up against our big board. I'm liking Jaxson Dart and have picked him several times in mocks right there in the 3rd.
If we don't fix the oline the previous paragraph means nothing. The money we're paying Tua combined with how injury prone he is makes it totally insane not to build a wall to protect him!! It's insurance, have to do it or we may be the worst team in the AFC East. Build a wall and a running game and we'll be a very good offense and we'll have a puncher's chance to get hot and be a good team but we have work that must get done. I think Weaver will have the defense playing better this season.

Tyler Shough comes to mind….
